Fantastic experience: We needed the emergency vet clinic for our spaniel and my goodness, Liz was absolutely AMAZING!! She had such a massive amount of knowledge, gave us great care and advice, looked after our boy and made sure we understood the treatment she was giving us (there was lots to remember). Liz even called the next day to personally check on him and how he was doing. Couldn’t recommend them enough! They were also so reasonable - for an emergency visit after hours, slides done, 3 lots of week long medication, cone and a special topical medication came to only $466 which was way under what I was expecting. He’s doing much better now! Thanks RVC <3

All staff, vets, vet nurses are knowlegeable, caring and helpful especially if your pet is not the best at the vet. The lobby has a lot of space for dogs that are reactive to all things new. Eddie does well over in the corner by the horse products :)

Fantastic experience: Yesterday evening I found my buddy in a devastating state where he needed to be euthanized asap because of the pain he was in, I called rvc and they got me in within 30 minutes and had him put out of his misery in the kindest way possible. Fantastic experience: RVC was awesome! The facility is amazing and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. I got answers I needed to treat my horse and the medication needed to do so. The accommodations for my horse were clean and safe and he was treated kindly. I only wish they were closer to where I live but well worth the 4.5hr drive. Hope not to have reason to go back but definitely would if needed. I’ve added the only photo I took, from the window of my horse truck(it was very cold!) of Punk in a yard at sunset.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! Have been to the Kaiapoi branch and Rangiora branch. There are plenty of car parks, lovely staff who know what they are doing and they don't cost an arm and a leg. My dog Turbo always looks forward to going to his local vet. Even when going for a walk, he always wants to go up to the vets door. We have had quite a few visits, and we could not fault the service or expertise.

Fantastic experience: Great vet practice, having after hours and full surgical ability is such an important thing to have. Jose is a wonderful vet who knows her birds from exotics like parrots to poultry like chickens and ducks which is hard to find in your usual vet center. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Amazing vets. So kind and helpful. Won't be changed vets any time soon. These are my boys, Frankie sleeping in the toy box and Freddie giving me some cuteness. And these are my boys now. They'll be 1 on Easter Sunday. Frankie has his head in the couch after being told off, and his ears covered because he got sick of listening to me. And Freddie, well he has no shame but still gives me cuteness time. Love them to bits.

They took the time to also explain the pros and cons of treatments (or non treatment). They were also super helpful and respectful when my old girl passed. They noted how she was really spritly right to the end and they never once pushed putting her to sleep.

Positive experience: Poor customer service, no listening skills, no attention to details. Only interested in money making! We brought our 15 years old dachshund to Rangiora Vet as she had pain due to arthritis. The vet was more concerned about the dog heart murmur which we were aware and she recommend a heart scan. We agreed having no problems to pay for it, but asked the vet a few times about a treatment for pain for our dog. The vet prescribed 2 weeks pain relief and we believed it was not enough to.solve the pain and arthritis problems for our dog. Also the vet confirmed that we would get more tablets for the dog if we call and don’t have to pay for another check up appointment to get the medication. No pain relief and the arthritis treatment options were discussed and offered to us during the appointment even we asked a few times about our options. No one really listened our concerns. The next day we got a call from the vet, Marcus, about the heart scan of our dachshund. Unfortunately, the vet was not prepared to answer my simple question how the heart condition changed compare to the old heart scans which Rangiora clinic got from the vet in Wellington. Marcus rang the next day and changed us to the call, which we believe is unfair and we did not agree to. If he was prepared for the call, read the previous heart scan results which was necessary, no more calls would be required. My husband brought the dog the second time to the clinic and again he asked for pain relief and a treatment for our dog arthritis which was ignored saying the dog is as fine. A few weeks later our 15 years Matilda was still in pain and I had to call the clinic again explaining the same pain problem to discuss the treatment options and making an appointment for our lovely dog. When my husband brought the dog for an arthritis injection he was advised to pay outstanding bill for the extra vet call. No one inform us about the bill before, we disagreed to pay this bill explaining the situation saying that we would dispute the bill. The receptionist promised to discuss this matter with the manager. A few weeks later we received the bill to pay which we were disputing. Again no attention to details and customer listening skills!! None wanted to hear our concerns. We explained the situation and still waiting for the resolution. We are vet disappointed with the customer service experience and are prepared to move to another clinic cancelling all future appointments for our dog arthritis injections which are not cheap.

Negative experience: Nearly lost one of our cats due to the one of the incompetent vets here. We were told that she had a fur ball. Luckily we weren't dumb enough to believe this and took her to another vet who quickly diagnosed a viral infection and noted her highly elevated heart rate .Big flash buildings don't always mean good caring service. Overall our two experiences here we well below our expectations although the charge for a misdiagnosis definitely exceeded what I would call reasonable. Update: Not even a response to this review after quite a long time. Point proven I guess

Fantastic experience: Best all round vet centre in the region. I choose to travel there with my dog despite it being a 35-minute drive away. The vets and other staff are kind, considerate, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and genuinely seem to care about each individual pet. I've only used the small animal clinic for my dog, so I can't comment on the equine and larger, farm animals section, but I'd expect the same positive attitudes to extend to them aswell.

Fantastic experience: This is probably the best vet that I have been to. The vets here are so caring, really do their job well and take care of your pets perfectly! They are not limited to treating only dogs or cats, they treat both small and large animals too. The clinic itself is really spacious, clean and organized, with two waiting rooms:one for the cats and one for the dogs. Staff are really friendly and we always left satisfied. They also take emergency walk ins, they have a whole emergency entrance, where you can get your pet taken care of in an emergency situation. If you are concerned about your pet, but its not a major emergency, they can either find you a spot for an appointment ASAP via call, or if you get there they can arrange with an available nurse/vet to check your pet. Fantastic experience: I'm still waiting to pick my boys up. They've got no shame, and after today, it won't matter. Frankie is in the blue monster, and Freddie is in the pineapple house. The next photo is Freddie showing it all to see. Then Frankie thinks he's 10 feet long . These boys sleep in the most peculiar possible positions. As naughty as they are, they're just so special and so spoilt. I love my boy boys. I've got my boys back, and I'm so happy that everything went to plan. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and explain exactly everything step by step. Thank you to all the staff and nurses and vets who have looked after my boys with so much love and care. I'm more than happy and appreciate all you have all done. But they seriously stress me out. Yesterday, Freddie was in the dog run. My 1st kitten Eddie was too close, and the dogs pulled him through. I'm not going through that again. But these 2, seriously, I think I should have called them dumb and dumber. They constantly do the same thing over and over. Now I have to lock the dogs away so they don't get my boys. I haven't stressed so much in all my life until I got these boys, major senior moment that's for sure.

Negative experience: We were recommended by friends to go here sadly our experience was not a good one for our fur baby Pepper. We had the hardest decision to make putting our pepper down due to an aggressive melanoma in the mouth. Thinking she was going to leave this world peacefully was totally the opposite 1st of all we waited over 20 minutes to be seen whilst we waited in a small room. Pepper started stressing then. Lady came in and used a too bigger needle and making pepper yelp and bleed so wrapped that up and left us to try and calm her down. Which she wouldn’t so we asked to sedate her to relax her they gave her the dose but she fought it and didn’t want to settle I knew she was scared and stressing so they gave her a second dose which I think she overdosed as it looked like she was having a seizure. We were so distraught we said to them to do it quickly which felt like forever. Confirmed gone we left our pepper, so upset she did not go peacefully. BUT wait! There’s more. They called to say her ashes were ready which we paid extra for a timber box. We went to pick her up and they handed over a cardboard scatter box. So we had to give her back so they could correct it. Then to top it off had a sympathy card given us without even finishing writing it out by who it’s from just: From the team at…………(nothing) Absolutely disappointed in our experience and will not recommend this vet clinic to anyone!! Our poor girl was not able to leave peacefully and to be reminded of this again and again with there stuff ups. Just made our whole experience for pepper a nightmare. I will be also making a formal complaint .

Fantastic experience: Couldn't rate Rangiora Vet Centre more highly based on our experiences over the last week. We had a ewe that got sick very quickly and John came out to our property to help us out. He was kind and caring, and gave us lots of good information and advice. Our ewe seemed to be doing better on the treatment plan we hoped would work, but then went downhill again this morning so we had Heather out to check on her today and we made the difficult decision to put her down. Heather was so compassionate and understanding and helped us feel much more at ease with our decision. If I could give more than 5 stars I would, and we'll definitely continue using Rangiora Vet Centre if we ever have problems in future.

Fantastic experience: This vet was very friendly, accommodating and treated my dog better than a hospital treats its human patients. I went to another vet originally, who quoted me an outrageous price for a minor surgery, I went for a second opinion at Rangiora Vet Center, the quote came in at half the price. Doggo has had her surgery, the cost of the surgery, meds, biopsy and after care came in less then the other vet quoted for JUST the surgery. From the time of the consultation, to the completed surgery was 3 business days.

Saw us immediately, very nice vet who was gentle with our scared & injured cat and didn't insist on a bunch of unnecessary expensive extras that weren't required (like our past vet). Fantastic experience: If you find yourself in trouble outside of your normal vet's opening hours, this is the place to go! The Afterhours team treats you with such friendliness, grace, professionalism, and ensures all your questions are been answered, while offering additional information and suggestions. We got more than we asked for and were able to call to the vet the next day for additional questions. There was no rush even when the veterinarian needed to pop out to see another patient. Everything was kept calm but efficient. Their surgical team is a real A-team. With our dog possibly needing an extensive surgery, they emailed us, after which their head anesthesia nurse called us and we were able to speak with the surgeon regarding how to go ahead. You feel heard and understood with your concerns.

Fantastic experience: Recently took our bunny Jazzy to the amazing team at RVC as he had an eye infection. The vet we saw was friendly, knowledgeable and very thorough. Always a great experience!

Negative experience: While the appointment was suitable and treatment was effective. When I arrived I was told I didn’t have an appointment even though I had booked earlier that day. I also sent an email to the clinic with some further questions I had after my appointment asking for advice on my pets course of treatment. I never did get a response, not an acknowledgment or response back after my visit. I felt very much like I was treated like an unwanted guest. Even though I was a guest they were prepared to change a premium price too. Overall disappointed in the way I was ignored and not responded to when I requested follow up advice.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic customer care. The facilities are excellent with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs. They always manage our expectation around costs every step of the way, no hidden expenses or add ons. Everything is explained fully and we have always felt that they really care about it pets well-being. What more could you ask for?

Negative experience: I paid $75 + extras for a consultation for my elderly cat as I was in a lot of distress about her breathing, just for her to get a quick check in the mouth- told me how bad one of her teeth were and then shuttled me out to pay; without doing any other checks for my big concerns i shared with the nurse. They didn’t even give her antibiotics or any medication whatsoever when they knew she was in pain. If i listened to RVC i would have had to put my cat down over a tooth. It’s INSANELY overpriced and all you get is nothing, i felt extremely taken advantage of because of my age and clear distress. I’ve also heard a lot of people have taken their dogs here for neutering and immediately got infections and sick. Now they are literally harassing me over this review like it’s my fault they treated me and my cat horribly… and it’s extremely getting creepy.

Fantastic experience: Cat came home injured. Called local RVC, but they couldn't fit us in for hours, and recommended trying Rangiora, who took us right away. The reception was welcoming and helpful, and we were seen promptly, by a very kind, efficient vet, who was reassuring, and had our often stroppy moggy examined, treated and ready for home very quickly. The Vet clinic is excellent with separate areas for large and small animals and has easy access from the large car parking areas. The signage is clearmaking it simple to find your way around. They stock plenty of high quality products if you're shopping for your pet. All in all, a very pleasant experience for us, maybe not so much for Sassy, but he is now well. The cost for treatment was fair. Recommend.
