Fantastic experience: Kind and caring and swift staff to help in a very difficult situation. Very thankful for their thorough care and empathy of Mabel our beloved bunny, cleaned her up, wrapped her in a blanket for us and offered to make paw prints and nose print in clay for us if we wanted.

They also have a lot of individual waiting rooms, so we had a private room, and didn't have to wait in the waiting room/reception area.

We got such helpful, vet-backed advice from the receptionist and nurse. Patiently & thoroughly took the the time to go through our concerns, check resources, call back and provide us with clear & explanatory responses that were very practically applicable/useful - to monitor or care for, both circumstances. Thank you so much, we are forever grateful and if this is the kind of genuine care pets get without even being brought in, I can only imagine how incredibly well y'all look after them in-person.

Fantastic experience: Sadly our cat had a traumatic injury this afternoon. The ARC nurse and vet both treated our precious Luna with genuine warmth and gentle care. Although it was a truly sad day for our family as we said goodbye, the staff were very empathetic with us and made a terrible moment more bearable. They were open and honest about the situation and gave us very clear guidance. We truly appreciate the warm professionalism shown by the entire team from reception through to the vet. On reflection there were so many little touches that transformed the experience. From the speed at which Luna was made confortabke from their pain, the soft cat bed Luna was placed on to make him comfortable, the time and space we were given to say our goodbyes, to the candle placed in reception. Thank you for the wonderful work you do. I would 100% recommend you to anyone who needs emergency vet care.

Fantastic experience: I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the team at Albany ARC, especially Dr Lucie and Dr Markian, for saving my dog Dyson’s eye during the New Year holiday period. We were so lucky when most regular vets were closed, Albany ARC was there for us. Both doctors spent an incredible amount of time and care treating Dyson, and thanks to their prompt and professional treatment, his eye was saved. I really appreciate that throughout the process, they always kept us well updated, which gave us so much reassurance during a very stressful time. I am also grateful to the nurses, reception staff, and specialists for their kindness, support, and teamwork. We are extremely grateful to have had your support when we needed it most. Thank you for everything you did for Dyson and for us.

Fantastic experience: We visited at 3am for urgent care after our cat was attacked by two dogs on our own property. The team at ARC took exceptional care of Joey, ensuring she was comfortable and calm throughout a very stressful situation. They explained everything clearly — the recommended care plan, pricing options, and their findings the following day. When Joey was ready for discharge, they made sure we were well prepared for her recovery at home, including demonstrating how to administer her pain relief. We’re incredibly grateful for the care, professionalism, and genuine empathy shown by the ARC North team, both to Joey and to us.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at ARC vet hospital with our Labrador who consumed recreational drugs (eaten in long grass during a walk) not known at the time, figured he had consumed poison of some sort. Recreational drugs detected through urine sample. Thankfully only a small doseage consumed and lived to tell the story. Now referred to as Snoop Dog Friendly caring service from arrival at reception. Not sure of the young women's name as not listed on the website but she was great and very good at dealing with multiple people including a very rude woman who spoke to her rudely. She did not show she was affected and kept her cool. A big thanks to Yi who was caring and compassionate with our dog and spoke very clearly and in a way we could understand what was required to try and help our dog. Also a big thank you to Christina who discharged our dog the next morning. Christina was so friendly and caring and also explained most likely how our dog had consumed the drugs (human faeces) and was great to chat to. HIGHLY recommend if you need vet/emergency ❤️

Fantastic experience: My two years old male cat has been diagnosed and treated in ARC vets Shore for a urinary obstruction. I had already received injections and medication from the local vet, but it didn't get better for 4 days and got worse, so I ended up coming to the ARC over the weekend. He was hospitalized for a day and returned safely to our family today. I'm grateful to the kind vet, Jess, for her prompt and clear treatment and explanations. My cat can now urinate and I can immediately tell that he is doing much better than yesterday. Of course, I had to pay not kind medical expenses, but this opportunity gave me the opportunity to learn about various diseases that frequently occur in male cats. I highly recommend ARC vets Shore.

Negative experience: Honestly disappointing in my experience with ARC vets, we will not be coming back. Had to take my boy cat in for a urinary blockage at about 9pm. Vets quoted me $3,600 to treat him and keep him overnight. He has full pet insurance, who would arrange a direct claim, but as it was out of business hours I couldn't get pre-approval then and there. They said they needed a minimum of $900 to be paid before he could receive any treatment, then the rest when I was to pick him up at 4am. They will refuse treatment to your pet if you cannot pay there and then EVEN if your insurance will pay. I was about to be turned away with pain medication and "hopes that he will make it through the night". The vet even mentioned having to put him down if I could not pay for treatment then and there. Very disappointed, and a very traumatising experience. Will not be coming back.

Negative experience: Lack of compassion, no diagnosis and ridiculous cost. We arrived at 11 pm, so it was an after-hours consult, a real emergency for us. The vet would not treat our pet in front of us, whisking her away into a back room for a simple injection! A preliminary hand examination was done, then a quote for nearly $2,000 to book her in over night for tests. No book in, no tests, no diagnosis. Held to ransom for money. No thanks. So we left with our pet with zero diagnosis and a few hundred dollars poorer. In the morning, our usual vet did a few tests in front of us and showed us the cause of the problem within 20 minutes, no discussion of stupid costs or hiding in back rooms. The care and compassion our local vet delivered (and always has in our 27 years with them) is something ARC desperately needs to learn. Our local vet’s premises are nowhere near as flash, but I prefer compassion, skill and caring over expensive environments. Every single time. Emergency or not, we won’t be back at ARC.

Fantastic experience: Can't praise the team high enough for their love when we brought our beloved elderly cat to the ER. Because of her age and how ill she was sadly, the decision was made to put her to sleep. The team were excellent including the lady on the reception desk who is an absolute gem. We saw Shania the vet who, for the time we were in the consult room, became a part of our family - she laughed with us, she cried with us, and she ensured our lil lady Rubix went peacefully and pain free to the bridge

Negative experience: As long as you’re able to write a blank cheque… they’re friendly. The moment you can’t or start to question their logic they accuse you of abusing staff. I remember when respect went both ways. These people seem to think they can treat you like a money tree and the moment you show any sign of distress they say you’re abusing staff. You’d think as doctors, such logic would be common place… but I guess its too much to ask that doctors use common sense and understanding

Negative experience: cost me a puppy's life. Absolutely disgusting service, everything from the communication over the phone, the receptionist, and the medical care. Over the phone, I got quoted $250 for an x-ray for an emergency dog in labor with an infant that won't come out after multiple hours. When I got there, there was no queue at all. I explained the urgency of the situation to the receptionist. it still took 40 minutes for them to come up with an answer as to what they can do for my dog. The initial $250 quote turned into a $3500 overnight stay for just an x-ray and bloodwork with another $7000 for a potential c-section. The doctor had no idea what she was talking about and could not explain where a single cent of the $3500 bill would be going towards. No knowledge of what they would do to her or the infant stuck inside of her. No indication that she will be helped, until of course they bring in a specialist for an additional emergency bill after it would already be too late just to squeeze every bit of money they can out of us. I left, and went to the afterhours vet in Rosebank rd. The dog was undergoing surgery with Trevor within one minute of stepping into the facility. ARC North robbed me of any chance for my dog to give healthy natural birth, and forced us to go in for a c-section due to them wasting 2 hours of our time in a state of emergency. The pup was unresponsive and would likely have been saved had we gone to the Rosebank road vet in the first place. It is an absolute disgrace of an institution. Their actions are disgusting. Their practices are disgusting. For the love of your pet, do not step foot in here.

Fantastic experience: Borh Fletcher (my asthmatic 2 year old cat) and I were very stressed when we arrived at the clinic on a Saturday night. All of the vets, nurses, and front desk staff, were calm and warm with us. They answered my questions, and while they expressed concerns for Fletcher, they were also thoughtful and conscientious to me.I have already recommended you to 3 people. I rate your service and care very highly, and i cannot thank you enough

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank ARC Vets enough for the incredible care they gave my puppy Milo over the weekend. I had to rush him in at 1am after he ate something toxic, and he was not in a good way at all. The team were calm, professional, and so kind - they kept me informed the whole time and made sure he got the treatment he needed straight away. Thanks to their quick action and care, Milo was back to his happy self in no time! I'm grateful to have such an amazing emergency vet service so close to home when I needed it most!

Fantastic experience: A Taupo vet misdiagnosed that our dog had a bad infection that deteriorated badly overnight...taupo were closed and we lacked confidence to return...so in the middle of the night sent a video to ARC who suggested we return to auckland treatment with asap...after a long drive we received amazing treatment...our stress has gone. Fantastic experience: Recently I braved the cold and dark with my Labrador to get a sore eye looked at. I was dreading this unscheduled emergency vet visit, but it was a genuine pleasure from beginning to end. At 4 am, the phone was answered promptly, and clear and simple directions provided. When I arrived, the receptionist was warm, friendly and welcoming. There was no queue. The vet was kind, professional, and explained every step of the examination process in a way that included me and kept me informed. Most importantly you could tell she really loved animals, apologizing for the lack of treats and heading off the the kitchen to fetch some chicken to reward my dog for his good behaviour! The environment was clean, speaking, light, bright and welcoming - not a given at that hour of the morning. There was a delightful video on how to give pills to cats to keep us entertained and informed while we waited. After the consultation, clinical notes and invoice were emailed to me promptly, and I received a follow-up text a day later asking how me dog was progressing. This a service from the heart, and though one never wants to visit the emergency vet, it's good to know my next experience will be a supportive and positive one. Ten out of ten to the team!

Fantastic experience: Animal Referral Centre is a very important emergency vet service facility for any pet owners living in North Shore area of Auckland. We had to take our dog in the middle of night on a weekend because our dog was having bloody diarrhoea. We got our consultation promptly upon arrival. Fantastic experience: The staff here are absolutely wonderful. My dog went in with a serious leg injury just before New Years. Staff were very helpful and caring towards my dog. He's been back multiple times for checks up and loves visiting his "friends". Some dogs would be traumatized after going through an ordeal but he's not thanks to their amazing care. Fantastic experience: My 9 year old healthy pedigree standard poodle has had repeated ear problems for years. It is a common yeast infection. Treatments to date require more work than is convenient for me and still it’s been “same old, same old”. Dr Leslie Sauber prescribed a treatment which is very effective and works. I had two options, tried the first which worked but still needed more work/effort/timetables than desired and so settled on the second as requiring minimal time and effort and less stress for Tess and could be administered by anyone at her regular 4-6 grooming/clipping session if I am not longer able to do that. I was initially quite sceptical but after two clinic visits, I was impressed by Dr Leslie’s patience (with me) and clear understanding of my needs, because that is important too and often overlooked. Our animals depend on us and my limitations due to aging are an important consideration in the treatment of my lovely girl.

Fantastic experience: My regular vet recommended ARC for specialist treatment when they suspected my cat had (incurable) lymphoma, and I'm so glad they did. The team at ARC were incredible throughout, from the initial consult until her last treatment and the follow up after she passed away. I was well informed at all stages and the whole team were so caring and compassionate - they liaised with my local vet and were available around the clock to answer questions and provide advice. Fantastic experience: This specialist veterinary hospital provides the ultimate care for pets and their owners presenting with complex issues. My cat (Minty)was seen promptly by a very skilled internal medicine specialist, Sarah, after Minty stopped eating. A very thorough assessment followed along with a easy treatment plan. Minty is now improving. I highly recommend this practice if you want the best of care for you and your fur babies.

The whole staff were very caring from the receptionist to the vet. They kept us updated with texts & phone calls. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: This is the second time our dog has been at ARC for an emergency and both times we have been super impressed. I ran in on Tuesday evening after our 2 year old lab suddenly stopped walking and the team were so quick to jump into action. We knew she was in the very best hands from the beginning. The team were quick to see her, get her in and start tests. That night they pretty much knew what was wrong even though it was a bit odd and the specialist saw her the next morning. After a 2 night stay she is now home and on the mend. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than your standard vet, but you pay for the expertise and constant monitoring. Thank you so much for your care of Gracie on both occasions, and we hope we don’t have to see you in the future but know exactly where to come if we have another emergency

Fantastic experience: We would 100% recommend ARC in Albany. We phoned in great angst last Sunday as our darling 19 year old Burmese cat Burberry, was going downhill fast and we knew something was very wrong. Lisa answered the phoned and she immediately put me at ease. She was kind and everything you need on the other end of the phone when you're upset. She told us to come straight in. When we arrived at the clinic, Lisa was so thoughtful and caring. Burberry's vet Lauren, was also amazing. Although we ended up having to let our beloved go and it broke our hearts, Lauren was so respectful and kind. We were so sad and Lauren handled both Burberry and us with such kindness and sensitivity. We will always remember Burberry's passing as being so peaceful. We were in such a distressed state when we left and Lisa continued to be so incredibly kind to us. Even when we received the text to collect our baby's ashes, it read so beautifully. Fantastic experience: We came in after hours a few nights ago with our little Moopoo in a bad way. The staff member at the front desk was quick to take action and brought our baby back to a room without hesitation, and sat us in a waiting room. The vet who came to see us and explain what was wrong was kind, compassionate and explained perfectly so that we could understand. She gave us all of our options and explained the ramifications of each one, and happily and comprehensively answered all the questions we had. The staff allowed us back into the treatment room to see our Moo and give him a few last kisses, and brought him into the waiting room so we could hold him whilst he was put to sleep. The vet made this process as painless as it possibly could be, explaining each step and what Moo was likely feeling at the time. Even after this process the care we received remained amazing and compassionate with staff allowing us to bring our baby home to give his brother the chance to say goodbye, and suggesting that she would let us settle the bill when we returned in the morning as opposed to on the spot. Even when we returned and decided not to cremate, the lady at the front desk completely understood and made the process as easy as possible. She still offered to store him overnight and have his paw print/fur clipping done, free of charge. Every member of staff we interacted with at your clinic played a role in making this most difficult time in our lives just a little bit easier, and I can’t thank them enough for that. Please extend these thanks and let the crew know that they’re doing amazing work and really do make an impact in people’s lives. It can’t be easy for them to deal with these situations day in and day out so to do it tirelessly and still with compassion and care is truly commendable, we cannnot recommend ARC enough. Fantastic experience: The team at ARC Albany are absolutely fantastic for emergency care. They asked great questions over the phone, in the early hours of the morning to determine if we should bring our dog in or not. Once we arrived, all staff handling our dog were gentle, kind and patient. Information about our dogs condition was explained thoroughly at a level that we could clearly understand. We were kept informed throughout, and received calls and updates at times that were promised. Thank you for all your kindness team, we were very worried about our Bella and your caring, informative approach made us feel that she was in the best place.

Fantastic experience: My shih Tzu Evie was super itchy so was having regular cytopoint injections and became so scared of the vet and needles so knew I had to find a different option. Shes now gone from being anxious and scared to all over her the vet Leslie and the nurses begging for pats. Evie’s a lot less itchy and happier after coming to ARC so very happy so far. The vet and nurses are also super lovely. Quite expensive so definitely recommend having insurance but regardless their care is worth it!

Fantastic experience: I went in so stressed and worried. Desk staff found us a room straight away My boy is my baby but can be reactive to dogs. Our vet was lovely and understanding very helpful and now he is all better and we avoided sedation which i really dont like putting him through if i can help it. If its urgent i 100% recommend. Fantastic experience: We are so thankful to Dr Magen Shaughnessy, nurse Layla and everyone else involved in the surgery diagnostics and care of Maia, our 3 year old pug. They had the difficult task of finding and removing ovarian remnant left behind by another Auckland vet during her Spay. Everyone at ARC were so proffessional. Their kindness, care and compassion is truely exceptional.

Fantastic experience: After a long and happy life, having had excellent and regular medical care, we still had to face what everyone with a pet ultimately has to deal with.... The loss of our pet. No one wants to have to put their pet down. The staff at arc were kind and treated our dog with respect. They made impressions of her paws in clay, that I'll get to keep forever and they returned her blanket after her cremation, rather than just throwing it away. The process is yuk, obviously, but thanks to them, it was not traumatic. When you're grieving, every kindness brings some relief. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in Fletcher's care!!

Fantastic experience: the workers here have a real love for animals. I brought my cat here during the night in a critical condition and they went straight into action. not only did they care for my cat, but they also cared for myself. 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic experience: We visited this referral centre after hours and were very impressed with the service. Very easy to get to as well. The nurses and doctors were spot-on with their diagnosis, providing us with a range of options and clear guidance. They performed the necessary tests on the spot, which allowed us to make the right decision for our pet. The service was efficient, and the costs were reasonable. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Amazing team of vets and vet nurses. Always super helpful, thorough and very knowledgeable when it comes to diagnosing issues and treating them. Have been twice with two different dogs now and I’m very impressed.

Fantastic experience: The entire team at ARC North looked after my baby cat Monty so well, it was so reassuring and amazing. The reception team were always so welcoming and calming, the Nurses and Vets all showed Monty such gentle love and care and if we ever wanted an update we could call anytime of the day or night. One of the lovely Nurses even sent me pictures of the baby overnight. Could not recommend this facility (also very clean, modern and so well equipped) and the team more ♥️

Fantastic experience: ARC is amazing! My dog can always been seen straight away no problem getting an appointment. The staff are very nice & friendly, really good with my little dog. I feel very comfortable leaving my dog with them. Could not recommend a better place for your fur babies

Fantastic experience: ARC team have been incredibly helpful with a quick potential diagnosis, immediate treatment, and great explanations to me of what was going on. They have answered all of my questions, and provided great detail to me of how to complete her ongoing care, including demonstrations of wound dressings and O tube cleaning. I really appreciated that when my cat was released into my care, I still received a check in phone call to assess her recovery. Every vet, vet nurse and receptionist has been nothing but kind and supportive throughout my cats illness, and I could not recommend them more highly

Fantastic experience: From the initial phone call Sunday afternoon to when I collected Mo Tuesday afternoon the girls at ARC were fantastic. Caitlin, Chloe, Annie, and Kelsey were lovely and very caring towards Mo and me. I felt well informed throughout the 2 days Mo was in their care. Dee at reception was friendly, empathetic and efficient and is a perfect front person for ARC. I cannot thank the team enough for the care they gave Mo.

Fantastic experience: Cooper was rushed to the emergency due to diarrhea and vomiting, and we were extremely worried, almost to the point of tears. We are very grateful for the quick response from the reception and the doctor. The doctor was thoughtful and explained in detail what tests and treatments Cooper would undergo. Now, he has fully recovered! Cooper says thank you! we haven’t received the blood test results and the X-ray images. Will these be provided to us?

Fantastic experience: My pup has spent quite a bit of time at ARC due to injuries and things and he is always well looked after and actually loves going there! I feel my dog is in safe hands with them and they are great at keeping us updated on how he's doing.

Fantastic experience: Our cat Blaze once again ended up late on a Sunday afternoon with a heavily bleeding discharge from his eye. All it took was a phone call, a 20 minute drive and we were warmly greeted and Blaze was expertly looked after. Whilst he is probably a more frequent visitor than we would hope, the service and attention received is fabulous.
