Our kitty had to have a bladder procedure at an emergency vet and Ellen was so kind in enrolling us over the phone and making space to have him checked out the next day. Lilian was so reassuring and let us know exactly what will happen from here. She was so professional and very sweet with our cat. Awesome team and we’re happy to know our kitty is in good hands for anything else that might come up in the future!

Fantastic experience: Dr Rosie Keen, Keya and team, were outstanding in every sense, with my german shepherd Nikita!! I had an emergency problem with her leg and the service provided was exceptional! They stayed after closing time and over and beyond the call of duty to provide an excellent outcome for Nikita! We were so worried but the assessment, care a, diagnosis and treatment provided was outstanding! Thank you very much team you were all amazing! Fantastic experience: An excellent veterinary clinic. I've taken my cat Storm there on three occasions and each time, the care and service has been of the highest quality. I highly recommend Abbotts Way Veterinary Clinic for your pet's welfare and needs.

Fantastic experience: We've had several different vets for our dogs over the years and Abbotts Way is our favourite by far. From the easy booking system and good communication, to the kind and knowledgeable vets. The clinic has good accessibility, they quickly adapt to your pet's character and while vets alternate, the knowledge is passed on so you don't spend time repeating information (which is what we've experienced before). Plus they do lovely in-depth follow up phone calls. If you're looking for a vet, we totally recommend you try Abbotts Way.

Negative experience: After the appalling non service from both girls on reception who couldnt have cared less that I was there today, I have transferred all 4 pets to another vets and received immediate service! They have a card on reception saying they would love a review……. I was not even acknowledged for 17 mins…. Despite waiting patiently for them to get off the phone at my arrival and sitting directly in front of them, and being literally the only customer in the waiting room or carpark they made absolutely no attempts to remedy my appointment error despite helping someone over the phone do that exact thing ( i was seated so close i could hear all conversations so there’s no way they could miss me - and the door is right in front of them….) When I said I made a midday appointment one girl said oh that’s for next week so knew exactly what I had come in for yet still did nothing by way of communicating this to me in the whole time I sat waiting. All I got told was sorry we’re far too busy, come back next week, although jlooking at your notes that will be too late for what you want, and then two blank stares till I walked out. I left and sent an email which goes to reception so I had low expectations on a response …. and true to their service abilities got no reply until I emailed again and asked for all my pet records to be transferred elsewhere, which was only to say “no problem, all done, kind regards”. You’re not just in retail girls you’re in the business of caring for people’s pets and charging for the privilege so perhaps you could care even an iota.

Fantastic experience: I have delt with two vets over the last year and a half here. They take their time with your fur baby and show genuine care. I always leave feeling like my fur baby has been checked properly and cared for. I always find it a stressful experience taking my fur babies to a vet when they are unwell but I feel that I am in great hands here. Friendly staff also greet you upon entry which is lovely.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Howick branch for my senior cat who was having issues peeing. I suspected a urinary infection. Given my cat has a multitude of things happening at this age, they gave me options to complete the right tests with various price options to be able to provide the best care. I was well informed and feel confident my pet is in safe hands.

Fantastic experience: Our regular vet clinic was closed and our puppy needed to see a vet for tummy troubles. It was such a great experience from start to finish. The receptionist was so lovely and the vet was amazing, making a stressful situation into a relaxed and enjoyable one. An exceptional team all around and very welcoming and informative. Fantastic experience: I took my dog Zeus to this clinic first time today. Mark was amazing. He took his time to know Zeus and Customer Service was great!! I took Zeus in after very long time. He usually won't get inside the consulting room. But this time Milan was successful to take him in a room! Thank you Milan. The team as usual was great!

Negative experience: My elderly mum recently bought her dog here and had a bad experience with the vet technician. She was not very nice and had a short temperature when talking. Dont reccomend

Fantastic experience: This was our first time bringing our Spoodle after a poor experience elsewhere - we were both very nervous but we had an amazing experience despite my dog being unwell. The staff were so friendly and made me at ease and provided excellent care for my dog and advice. Appointments were easy to book, we were seen very quickly and I couldn’t recommend more! Especially liked how much care was taken with the injections as my dog was very anxious but I was able to hold her and keep her calm. Thank you so much!!

Fantastic experience: We have taken both our cat and dog here in the past fortnight for there yearly jab. Friendly staff , good amount of treats we found the two visits went smoothly . Nice and handy to our main park at Waiatarua Reserve for walks afterwards. Good caring people that know how to win your pets confidence and trust . Fantastic experience: Always friendly, helpful and knowledgable. animals superbly handled. Treatment options well explained. Have been with this clinic for 35 years.

Negative experience: Disappointed with the visit – won’t be going back. I went for my puppy’s first vet visit, expecting a full check-up. The whole appointment lasted 5 minutes. The vet only looked at him and checked his temperature — no examination of ears, teeth, paws or skin. It felt rushed and not thorough at all. I left feeling like it was a waste of money ($94) Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: The team here are so lovely and truly care about both pets and people. We really appreciate the support, care and expert advice both us and our cat Olive received, especially towards the end of his life. We even received a handwritten condolences card from the team in the mail after Olive passed away. To everyone at Abbotts Way Veterinary Clinic, thank you - you are great at what you do.

Positive experience: Mixed review Out cat had 4 teeth extracted plus some medication. Although we received excellent care I felt that the cost was very expensive. When I mentioned it to a couple of friends they told me of other vets in close proximity that charged half the cost. In addition our cats collar and name tag was taken off and lost which was not happy about.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Abbots Road Vets when my elderly border terrier needed urgent help but it was right before a long weekend and my normal vet couldn't fit us in. They have been incredible! Truly amazing that they took the time to squeeze us in as busy as they were too. The vet we saw made it a thorough first appointment. I was given different treatment options rather than just do this and here's all the meds and steroids. I felt truly listened to with my concerns. There has been regular check-ins and adapting the plan as progress over the next month was monitored. I finally feel that his recurring ailment has a clear, considered treatment plan in place. I'm not just treating the symptoms but focusing on the systemic cause of his health issues and I feel less powerless about things. I cannot recommend this vet clinic enough.

Fantastic experience: Staff were very kind and responsive when I called needing an urgent appointment. On arrival reception staff were friendly and efficient and the attending vet (Clem) was also very prompt, efficient, friendly and kind to my cat. He was also very knowledgeable and took care to explain and demonstrate x ray results to me. His advice was very pragmatic when explaining all of the options for my cat's treatment which I really appreciated! This was my first dealings with this clinic and I'd definitely recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Abbots way vet today. I have a very nervous cat who hates the vet, but they were so kind and gentle with her. They didn’t rush her and let her feel comfortable in the space before trying to touch her etc. Highly recommend this clinic.

Negative experience: I brought my 7 year old dog, Leo, to Abbots way vet clinic because I knew something was wrong. I'm not a vet, which is why I trusted them to assess him properly. instead, the focus of the appointment was solely on his anxiety, and no physical exam was perfumed. I left feeling uneasy, still convinced something was wrong. My mother later emailed the clinic, expressing that the appointment wasn't up to standard and that a physical exam should have taken place. Instead of taking accountability, they dismissed the concern and falsely claimed an exam had taken place, even though I was there the entire time, and it absolutely did not happen. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and contacted another vet. they immediately did a physical exam, noticed his discomfort, and ran tests, confirming he had Pancreatitis. Had I relied on abbots way care, my dogs condition could have worsened significantly. While my mother and the clinic have since resolved things between them with a refund, I am not satisfied myself. No amount of money changes the fact that their negligence could have had serious consequences for Leo. I hope they learn from this and start prioritising thorough exams over dismissing concerned pet owners.

Fantastic experience: Love this place. Wonderful caring, friendly and professional staff from the minute you walk in the door. My wee dog Inka is in good hands when I take her there. Dr Anu is a standout but honestly they are all wonderful there! Highly recommend.

Negative experience: We went to this vet clinic for our dog( Billie). Billie neede his nail clipped but it was very difficult to do. So he was prescribed meds to take before the clipping. We followed the instructions given to us and on the day of the meds did not work. The nurse kept asking Billie " shall we cut your nails" on the end she was not able to clip all nails. She did a couple of nails and thats it. But we were charged the full price. So after spending more than couple of hundred bucks still the nails were not totally done. So disappointing and we felt robbed. We tried emailing the vet but no response. Obviously we are not coming back.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ben at Abbotts Way Clinic picked up what two other vets didn’t or missed! Thank you Dr.Ben. Snowy became very unwell over the weekend, so we took him to the Veterinary Surgery at Sylvia Park. When he didn’t improve, we went to the Animal Referral Centre, where he was kept overnight, improved slightly due to painkillers but he still wasn’t better. Finally, Dr. Ben saw him at a follow-up, and thanks to his expertise, Snowy has significantly improved and is back to his happy self! We’re so grateful to Abbotts Way Clinic and Dr. Ben for their exceptional care and highly recommend them to all pet owners.

Fantastic experience: Recently a beautiful puppy named Rory joined our family. The vet I registered him with was sick and I urgently needed to find a vet for Rory’s vaccinations. I called Abbotts way veterinary clinic to see if they could help, as I had taken time off work for the vaccinations. They were amazing, warm kind and accommodating. I will now be using them as Rory’s vet. Thank you for your excellent service to Rory and kindness I personally felt.

Fantastic experience: We have literally just changed vets due to reduced hours and needed an appointment same day. Abbotts Way vets were super friendly and helpful on the phone and had a time booked within a couple of hours for one of our dogs. Turns out he has an ear infection. The transition from old to this vet was super quick and all files are with them already. Great peace of mind and the staff are so friendly and Dr Lilian was very thorough with our fidgety/anxious boy. He even took treats of the vet at the end after the visit! Thank you…
