Fantastic experience: Because my cat had an emergency this morning, I didn't have time to call and make an appointment. I ran straight to the vet with my cat and was completely incoherent when I talked to the reception about the cat. But the reception listened to me very patiently and captured the information very efficiently. The veterinarian who treated my cat was very patient and carefully examined the cat's condition and wound (I'm really sorry, my cat still tried to bite you). Showed me how to care for my cat, what the medicine was for and how to use it, and patiently taught me how to give it to my cat (because I was really scared). I really appreciate your vet group help and now my cat is much more stable. Thank you so much for.Merry Christmas to you all!

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend NPVG . The vets, vet nurses and administration staff are friendly professional and approachable. Whilst the care and wellbeing of the animals in their care (in my case my previous and current dog) is clearly their main priority, their care and compassion for the pet owners cannot be underestimated.

Fantastic experience: New Plymouth Vet Group have been great with my Elderly cat Lyn, they really made it easier for us when it come to getting her antibiotic scripts and trialling medications that might help her. It was nice not having to bring her in all the time and I appreciate Katherine doing phone appointments. the vets are genuine people and passionate about their jobs.

Negative experience: NPVG are normally very good and professional. We recently had to put down our dog, regrettably. We were asked to queue afterwards to pay for this unfortunate event. Not nice.

Fantastic experience: One of my dogs had a freak accident while I was at work. Luckily my mum came over and was able to get her to the vet quickly. They were compassionate and kept us updated. They were thorough and I felt they gave her excellent care. My dog was absolutely fine and am unsure if she learned her lesson though. Would reccomend enrolling with this practice. You also have the option of booking an online appointment and they are open till 6pm and have a half day Sat.

Fantastic experience: We changed to this vet after not being satisfied with our last, and couldn't be happier with the service we're getting now. There's not much room to park a bike but there is one spot. (I ride my bike if I don't need to take a pet eg to pick up food or medications.)

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my pets to NP vet group for 14 years, they have always been kind, patient and sensible. I struggle to keep up with costs but they have always worked with me to manage this. On my last visit I witnessed something amazing that brought tears to my eyes. A woman stormed out of the building very upset, cussing loudly at staff as she went. Then she came back, very apologetic. I overheard her conversation with an NPVG staff member who spoke gently and said "It's okay, we understand. You did the right thing bringing your dog in today". It would have been so easy to dismiss this woman as aggressive but the staff prioritised building a relationship with her and without judgement. This likely improves the safety and happiness of pets significantly.

Fantastic experience: My dog was abused he's a rehome and very sensitive to vets, so through trial and error I found the Vet group p is the best vet for him. All my other animals go there also over the years they are so helpful and really care. They are very busy but you still feel welcome and cared for. Not just a number. I will always have them as my vet.

Fantastic experience: What brilliant vets. Our Leo turned with an ugly meaty patch on the right hand side of his face. We freaked out, thought a dog had bitten him or he'd been shot. We weren't keen on rounding him up into a carrier and driving to NP. We're new here out Auckland vet used to insist that we sedate him before we were allowed in because he's a Bengal big and a bit wild. These vets said the visiting vet, who does rural wasflat out fora day or so. We should photograph the wound and email it in. So we did. Turns out it was burst abcess. They gave instructions on how to treat it and today Leo is back to his old fiesty self. We've got three cats and I'll certainly be enrolling them. Thanks NP vets, you made ouiday.

Negative experience: Really upset at their policy of not letting unvaxxed people into the consultation room. I've been with this vet since I moved to New Plymouth and my elderly labradoodle was unwell. The vet asked me some questions and took her away to the consultation room. Also I wasn't told how serious her condition is (I looked it up on google later). The vet just said without doing further tests which I can't afford as I am on a sickness benefit she couldn't really tell what was wrong and gave me tablets for pain and reflux and a bill for $118.00. Changing to Vets 4 Pets as they allow unvaxxed people into the consultation room and I want to be there when she needs to cross the rainbow bridge.

Fantastic experience: I have known the team at Vet Group for many years and many pets. Always great. However this particular visit I want to call out Dr Ben. I really thought our cat was not coming home today. He was very sensitive and willing and wanting to try something else. Not only is this helping I have been getting indignant meows, so her "charming" personality is back. Never been so happy to be grumbled at by my cat. And then to have to come back next say with our dog. Dr Rob as usual you are awesome. And finally to Dr Nicola who arranged to see us urgently at 8pm during holidays, and kept our cat going the 1st time we thought she was not coming home. So that's twice in a week we brought home our cat when thought for sure this was it. So thank you thank you thank you

Fantastic experience: New Plymouth District Vet Group have been caring for my animals and providing support and education to me as a pet owner for a number of years. I have never had any cause to be unhappy with the treatments offered and found the staff kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and caring. I will continue to use their services as long as I have pets and live locally, and highly recommend them to others.
