Fantastic experience: Taz was seen by Ingrid the vet for review of his chronic kidney disease. Treatment options were explained for other problems that came up so that we were able to come up with a treatment plan. All staff were great.

Fantastic experience: My dog was referred for surgery here and I think this Vet Clinic is Amazing (I dealt with Lisa-Vet Nurse and Andrew Worth was surgeon), here is the why: Their communication is outstanding, always very prompt, they send all the post-surgery information before the surgery to give an understanding of what will be coming up. It gives you time to read it in the comfort of your own home, one less thing to stress about on the day and gives you time to get equipment sorted if need be. On the day: they clearly articulated the surgery method and took time to explain what is actually done, how it works and the risks They sent reminder text the day before about the pre-surgery requirements, but the real plus is on the day, once I dropped of the dog and left the clinic they followed up with these text messages: When she went under and if surgery plans changed, then another when she woke up from sedation and surgery results. To top it all off the next day she rung to check in and see how everything is going and answer any further questions. This level of communication just puts you at ease. Estimates of further care were done on the spot, an estimate of cost was given immediately for further care requirements and an appointment was made for just 4 days later. I 100% recommend Stoke vet Hospital.

Fantastic experience: I appreciated the way the vet listened to me, when I communicated about what we would like, in terms of next steps for our dogs current health issue. Imaging and inconclusive biopsy last year indicate a dark anomaly in her bladder. We were given medication as requested to help with any pain and inflammation and we don't want to go down the track of more expensive tests or intervention at this age and stage of her life. She misbehaved on the vets table and the staff took charge of the situation, so I could step back and not be the "bad guy" holding her, while a simple and vital physical examination took place. Great vet, vet nurse and supportive environment, as usual. Ngā mihi nui.

Negative experience: I had been coming to Stoke Vets for years until now. Took my cat in for a vaccine, flea and worm treatment. Got told that my cat didn't need the vaccine as he was on a 3 year vaccine and he still had a year to go.I thought it would be cheaper, but no was I wrong. I was charged for the flea and worm treatment that was $179 and must have been charged for a full consult as well, we were only in there for 10 minutes and only talked about the vaccine having another year. Absolutely outrageous I am not going back to their high charges. I should have been told that I had the option to buy an over the counter medication and I could do it myself.

Negative experience: Please just be careful before taking your fur baby here in an emergency. We got told that her heart beat and breathing were steady and normal, without any real conclusion as to what was wrong (while she was clearly very ill & close to dying). We got sent home with almost $100 worth of anti biotics & medication which she visibly couldn't take in, and died overnight with no known underlying cause. We are distraught, and don't feel like we had any real answers as to how she could have been helped to prevent the worst from happening. We would have rather been told that she wouldn't make it, instead of being sent home with expensive medications and a slither of hope.

Negative experience: On Anzac Day of this year I lost my bestfriend at stoke vets. I had an amazing vet nurse who was so kind and compassionate towards me in this fragile state. However the desk team and manager were the opposite, as a 18 year old who lives by myself it was extremely hard to come to terms that she had past, and of course due to the public holiday a hefty vet bill was given to me. (it’s not that I’m upset about) I used my last $400 to pay only 1/4 of the bill. I went to work the next day and had spoken to MULTIPLE adults who have had payment plans with stoke vets and so I thought I would ask as it was completely doable for me. They declined me (I assume purely because of my age) and demanded I get a credit card at the ripe age of 18 because there afterpay doesn’t support the amount I was charged . I got her cremated and when I went to pick her up was told they didn’t have to give her to me. I was absolutely appalled by this because when I received her ashes her name was spelt wrong, but as this point dealing with this establishment was too frustrating so I didn’t bother to correct them. When I came in to pay the bill with the credit card they forced me to get I was told that I had the option to just “put her down and the bill wouldn’t be so much” ?!?! Where is the compassion I’m grieving my bestfriend and all I was met with was ignorance and disregard. I found this experience extremely disheartening and hurtful. The only reason I have given the two stars is because of the wonderful vet nurse who seemed to be the only worker in the place with empathy.

Fantastic experience: Can I give over 5 stars? a 10? The Team at Stoke Vets are an absolutely lovely, friendly bunch ! Vets and Nurses, as a dog owner seeing such a friendly team gives a sense of relief , the team provides a lot of love to your pets pre op and all the way to discharge :) Your pets will be in absolute great hands :) Have loads more wonderful things to say about the Team here but it will turn into a full on essay . My boy has been at Stoke Vets for awhile now, he loves coming to say hi to the team - note he used to be terrified of vet clinics! Keep up the great work guys! Loads of love, Remi and Rocko !

Positive experience: Took my cat who had lost weight and wasnt eating. Slept all day. Not alot of interest in her surroundings. Turns out she has cancer. They sent me away with some medicine to hopefully shrink it. Omg! Shes eating so much i cant keep up! Shes running to me and alot more alert. It was also picked up she had flea eggs so I got her flea treatment and wormed and nails cut while she was there. Update review: different cat. Blocked bowels. The staff were great with bella and information. I wont lie. Cost $400 plus but thats including feeding and day and a half stay that happened after the quote eas given and it didnt change. Its worth it not getting told her kidneys are stuffed.

We did not have an appointment and had never been there, but everyone took us seriously, was welcoming, and they checked our puppy thoroughly. It was an ensuring experience for us. We signed up to them.

Fantastic experience: Pet and owner always treated with the upmost respect. Charges are accurate and not loaded with surprises. One of our pets had a very badly broken back leg, shattered in 5 places. They provided a specialist surgeon who put her leg back together at a very reasonable cost . After 3 months of caged life she walked away without even a limp and still years on can jump onto the kitchen bench without a problem. Thank you for always giving our pets the very best attention.
