Nelson Vets - Saxton

Negative experience: I cannot speak highly enough of the nurses and vets in this practice, however the corporate management layer running this business is awful and borderline incompetent. I recommend you take file notes of everything nurses and vets tell you , as their corporate staff will later try and relitigate. I have had three different people requesting three different and ever increasing amounts and this was to undo a discount their vet and nurse staff offered (At no stage did I request a discount). Accountants come in weeks later and try to claw back money. You have lost a regular customer who was happy until the corporates stepped in. I am taking my pets elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Today we had to say goodbye to our lovely old Frankie, such a special little dog….her love was unconditional ! She’ll leave a hole in our hearts. Flo will miss her buddy and her mentoring on how to bark at anything that moves especially the neighbours cat across the road We know we have done the best thing for Frankie as she had so many things going on with her little insides. It was absolutely pain-free so a massive shout out to Nelson Vets - Saxton… thanks for all your advice and help over the years. ❤️

Fantastic experience: We drove up from down south to take our dog here for a laproscopic spey. Hands down the best decision. Recovery time was quick. Great service. Awesome Vets and Vet nurses. Thanks to Adam the Vet and the team for taking excellent care of our dog Pickle. Great communication and information throughout. They really care!

Fantastic experience: I used to be a client at victory vets, I changed because I moved and I’ve recently brought a kitten. Moving our vets to Saxon’s was the best decision! They were so friendly and helpful! As a first time cat mum I was feeling anxious and overwhelmed but they made me feel totally at ease! The lady at reception was so helpful and friendly and gave us great advice on what kitten biscuits to get and our vet was through and also so helpful! Couldn’t recommend this veterinary clinic more!

Negative experience: I’m not happy with the vet nurse’s service. We told her our kitten is 10 weeks old and already booked for microchipping, but she still checked like she didn’t trust us. It made us feel like we stole the kitten or Picked up somewhere. Her attitude was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. But the vet was very kind and gave great service.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting behavior from all staff, I was denied vet medical care due to the abuse I received from victory vets in 2021, I have had two of my cats desexed at nelson vets Saxton without issues and now that I have a kitten with swimmers syndrome I am being denied medical care for my two week old kitten. I have tried to file a complaint but instead was just yelled at and abused, they did not care or listen to my complaints nor did they apologize for the way I was treated in 2021 or today. I do not recommend nelson vets or victory vets as they are under the same management, in 2021 they abused me, bullied me, made me cry and stole my guinea pig and now are purposely making it more difficult for me to seek medical care for my pets. I was lied to by victory vets and they assumed I couldn't afford treatment and tests. They did not explain anything to me in person instead the " explained " it all on a Google review response after I left a negative review. Nelson seems to be the number 1 place with entitled bullies who have 0 respect for others. Victory vets then tried to charge me over $80 for a consultation which I refused because 1 you stole my guinea pig you bullied and degraded me and 2 I did not get a consultation, victory vets said there was nothing noticably wrong with her and they would need more testing. They did not give me a diagnosis they did not let me take her to a different vet, they tried to steal my carrier and things inside it like toys towels food and water bottle. It has been over 3 years and they are still bullying and harassing me by not allowing me to visit vets in my area

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic vet service this place is! We had to put our beloved dog down and they offered an in-home service where Kelly and her nurse came and made the whole experience so peaceful and lovely. When we received the ashes, we also got a handwritten card signed by all of the staff and a plaster heart with a print from her paw and nose as a keepsake. Talk about going the extra mile- thank you for the best care during a very sad time for our family.

Easy parking at door, easy to get appointments, new clean facilities, reasonable pricing. My dogs both love visiting the new Saxton clinic. My dog was happy for ultrasound with everyone so kind and friendly. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I am very happy I changed to Nelson Vets Saxton, Kelly is lovely and the girls on the front desk are awesome BUT the emergency service needs work, they advertise 24/7 but as they team up with other vets this service is not guaranteed. Today I rang at 7pm approx with an emergency to be directed to Stoke Vet. No one answered after I chose 1 it rang out. I had to phone another vet and I lost my beautiful boy, I have another pet still with this vet but am doing some soul searching as to whether we should go somewhere with REAL 24/7 care. I cant go through that again.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Kelly and Adam at the Nelson veterinary clinic enough. Murphy would not be alive if it weren’t for them both. They have gone above and beyond to look after and accommodate both Murphy and myself. Adam’s surgery skills are incredible and achieved the best possible outcome I could’ve hoped for Murphy. Kelly’s knowledge of integrated veterinary medicine I believe has made the difference between not only Murphy still being here with us but also his quality of life. The difference in Murphy after having an acupuncture treatment is discernible. Thank you both and the rest of the team at Nelson Vets for your professional care, support and kindness.
