Fantastic experience: The staff are truely amazing I brought my senior cat in and they were so gentle and patient with him, they were very helpful, definitely the best vet I’ve been to!

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. I brought my cat, Iggy, in when she was very, very sick, and from the moment we arrived, the team showed nothing but kindness and compassion. I was completely heartbroken, but they took the time to explain everything clearly and gently, making sure I understood every step of the process. Not only did they care so deeply for Iggy, but they also cared for me. They gave me a private room where I was able to spend an hour with her before she passed, which is something I will always be grateful for. To top it all off, they later sent me the most beautiful handwritten card. Such a thoughtful gesture during such a difficult time. I honestly couldn't recommend them more highly. They treat your pets as if they were their own and provide such genuine care and support when you need it most. Thank you so much to all the lovely staff for making such a heartbreaking experience a little gentler. Both Iggy and I couldn't have wished for better care. Much Love

Fantastic experience: The staff there as just so amazing. I always leave there feeling like my dogs are loved just as much as I love them. We recently had to deal with the passing of one of my dogs, and the staff were nothing short of amazing. We weren't rushed, we were talked through every stage, and just the love and heart break we felt from the staff made the situation slightly easier. I could go on, but I will finish with a 15/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Such amazing and lovely people at this vet, They take care of the pets like there own. i wouldn’t ever go anywhere else. they took good care of my cat Hunter who had to stay overnight and would keep me updated on how he’s going. thanks so much for helping hunter towards his recovery❤️

Negative experience: My dog was unwell, needed blood tests and an xray on Nelson Anniversary, unfortunately Nelson Vets was the after hours vets. $280 for the 30min visit, another $280 for Injections and quoted $2000 for blood test and x-ray ($2560 total). My vet did all of that the next day for $700 total....Nelson Vets is absolutely extortionate and happy to use your sick pets to leverage insane amounts of money out of people. Turned into money grubbers when they opened their Stoke clinic.

Negative experience: I had a very sick dog and had to take her to the vets on the 20 Nov 2025 the nurse that meet me at the start was lovely the vet spoke to me my little dog was euthanize the vet was lovely until it came down to $$$$ I know and understand it is a business the vet sed to me that I could pay the bill off but sed the $200 cremation fee had to be paid off first to get her cremated so was going to pay that next week and then pay the rest off so i filled out the forms I sed I would b back next week with money for cremation and then to b told know I have to pay the whole bill first B4 the cremation can b done very upsetting wen told one thing then something else at a time wen I was already upset

Fantastic experience: I used to go to another local vet in town but my dog was badly injured one night so we rushed into victory vets as they were on call that particular evening. The service I recieved that night many years ago was so good that we switched our dog over to join Victory vets permanently and have since enrolled all of our other animals and encouraged my family members to do the same. Their care and compassion is outstanding and I feel that they look after each animal as their own. Best vets in Nelson for sure.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this vet clinic. Going to the vet for a sickly animal is never fun but the staff are very caring. I really appreciate how well they explain everything and how reassuring they are. Their receptionist are also amazing, quick on the emails and friendly on the phone!

Fantastic experience: We had to rush our beautiful 18 year old cat Sasha to be put to sleep last week at the clinic. He had kidney disease and Iain Pashby was absolutely professional while still being kind and compassionate with us and Sasha. Thank you Iain for your care for us all. You are wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this vet clinic and the staff that work there. We've been dealing with them with our old dog Stitch for years with him needing regular blood tests and pain medication. Just last week we had to say our final goodbye to him. They made the process something beautiful and that we will never forget. They were kind and caring and so loving to us and him at the time. And then also organized him to be cremated. I picked him up today in a beautiful box with a certificate of his cremation and the vets also made us a beautiful special ceramic plaque with his name stamped into it with his paw print inked on it. Absolutely heart warming. Thank you for making this painful time for us as lovely as you could.

Negative experience: I came in with my guinea pig because she wasn't eating properly and victory vets lied to me telling me there was nothing they could see wrong with her and would need more tests, they then lied and tried to trick me into signing ownership over to them because they said I would not be able to afford the tests they want to do, I said no and that I will go elsewhere to take my guinea pig to have her treated and I was still going to pay for the consultation, they then argued with me and insisted I sign the ownership over, because they never said what was wrong with her I didn't think anything about signing papers, I demanded I got my guinea pig returned to me so I could leave as I felt uncomfortable and was crying my eyes out because I had two grown women trying to convince me to give up my animal without telling me what was wrong with her. When they finally left to give me my guinea pig she came back with another vet who said the same things I was crying and yelling at them to get my guinea pig, they continued to argue with me until I finally gave up and felt like I was abusive to my animals so I signed her over to victory vets even tho I didn't want to, I told staff that I am only signing this because I am being forced to. They then said that wasn't their intention to make me upset and feel forced to do anything even tho that's exactly what they did they put me down and made me feel awful and lied to me about the health of my animal as well as them saying they will get my pet and instead bring me another vet who then does the same thing and try to force me to sign her over. Victory vets STOLE my pet and I would never recommend this vet to anyone they deserve to be shut down, also they tried to steal my cage and guinea pig things as well as charging me for the consultation and I still haven't paid, Im not paying for them to steal my pet.

Fantastic experience: It is in my opinion, The absolute best clinic in nelson. The Staff are friendly and care about the animals and the people that own them in a related way. It's got a real down to earth but professional feel about it as far as clinics go and that has never changed, the owners are all really nice people, and The staff are amazingly talented people that do great work. Communication is excellent and the bills are fair. We have been going there for decades now for the care of our animals and there food. We recommend anyone that has a need for their fur buddy go to this clinic. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Nelson Vets for 10 years, they are the kindest most caring vets you will ever meet. Saying goodbye to Georgie my cat after 16 years was hard but Carol and her vet nurse came to my home and it was a peaceful passing. Beautiful people with kind hearts. Despite being a business with staff and suppliers to pay there was no mention of an account and I paid it promptly online when it arrived. They are simply the best of the best ❤

Fantastic experience: When we moved to Nelson just under 3 years ago we didn't know much about any of the vets so went with Victory Vets and we couldn't be happier. Such care taken with our old girl Indiana. She passed away recently and they were so amazing with both us and Indie. We got a call saying they had a paw print for us to pick up which was such a lovely surprise and something we will have forever to remind us of our beautiful German shepherd. Thank you Victory Vets!

Negative experience: Had a 4am emergency resulting in my beautiful dog having to be put down. The vet, I believe was called Jacqui was wonderful and compassionate and the experience was as good as you can get at the worst time in you and your pets lives. The follow up telephone call at 9.20 the same day was uncaring and totally without any compassion, they woke me up ringing me saying A: sorry to hear about your dog, do you want the ashes? and B: how are you paying for the $525 bill, are you coming in or are you paying online? Within 5 minutes I had the bill via email. I understand it's a business but this was simply appalling at a time where I was tired, upset and grieving my beautiful boy. The reputation of $$ first at this veterinary clinic for me, has obviously rung true. Terrible first experience, and hopefully the last. If you want compassion throughout the whole experience try Halifax vets, my normal vet clinic.

Fantastic experience: Rachel, the exotic pet specialist vet, has been so great with my rats. I got options for method of humane euthenasia and got to be there for their passing (injection, not possible for gas method). They were so patient and caring and gentle. Absolutely recommend 100% especially for rats.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic service. I've been using these vets for many many years. They have always been amazing to deal with. All the staff are caring and compassionate about all pets, the big, small and the ugly. I've spent thousands of dollars over years ranging from yearly vaccines, ongoing medication, bad accidents to life savings surgery. I honestly can not speak high enough of these fantastic people. I recommend them to absolutely everyone.

Fantastic experience: OK I don't often post reviews but my experience with Victory Vets merits 5 stars. I chose them to help with my terrier who had bad dental issues, he needed all his teeth extracted. Their work was exceptionally good. Their bill was amazingly reasonable, their service was perfect. I would highly recommend their service to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Last week i was staying at the hostel down the road when the hostel cat attacked a nest of baby birds leaving 2 of them injured. Without hesitation Victory Vets were the only clinc that would take them in to see what they could do for these baby chicks. The people that work at this clinic are absolute angels and animal lovers.

I felt like I lived there at times with my senior rescue dog, they gave him the best care and supported me with decision making to give him the best life I could. Fantastic experience: Victory Vets are top in my book. I’ve taken Poppy, my Corgi x Maltese, to vets in Christchurch, Cheviot and Kaikoura but it was Chris @ Victory Vets in Nelson that diagnosed her condition and gave her relief. Today is the first day she hasn’t woke up scratching!!
