Fantastic experience: We were travelling and the clinic swapped appointments around to fit us in. Vet was amazing, would definitely go to him if we lived in this area. The person who answered our call was so friendly and welcoming.

Positive experience: This vets isn’t as good as it was under the previous owner. The experience isn’t there with the vets. There has been a constant change with vets over the past year. Reception staff are friendly. However if they are in that little cordoned off area behind reception you need to let them know you are waiting to pay! Sending a text reminder out WITHOUT giving your customers 24 hours notice to be able to cancel an appointment and then threatening to charge them a fee for late cancellation doesn’t seem very fair. I’m sure you can adjust your reminders to go out a little earlier!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend this vets enough. The staff are so soft and welcoming. From reception to the veterinary staff themselves. I’ve never had a bad experience there where I felt scared, rushed along. The aesthetic of the cottage style rooms are super warm and welcoming. The energy there is just beautiful. I could go into detail of my experiences but all you need to know is they’re incredible.

Negative experience: I'd like to thank staff that did help up to the point when I couldn't afford it anymore. I am writing this with a broken heart. I recently lost my beautiful cat, Chloe. She was feisty, playful, loving, and deeply bonded to me. She deserved every chance to live — but her life ultimately came down to money. What I am struggling to understand, and what I think the public deserves transparency on, is who determines the prices for veterinary care that so many people simply cannot afford. Blood tests costing hundreds of dollars, after-hours fees that skyrocket overnight, and limited options during public holidays leave pet owners with impossible choices. During a time when only one 24/7 after-hours clinic was available, the costs became overwhelming. Because of finances, Chloe was unable to receive the in-house treatment she deserved. That reality will stay with me forever. I don’t believe veterinarians study for years because they want to euthanise animals. I believe they do it to heal them. Which is why I find it deeply troubling that there seems to be so little visible support for people who are living week to week — people who love their animals just as fiercely but do not have insurance, savings, or access to credit. Not everyone can take out pet insurance, especially households with multiple pets. Not everyone can get a loan. Many of us are living penny to mouth, and emergencies don’t wait until life is more affordable. Vet costs are now one of the main reasons people are discouraged from having pets at all — not because they don’t care, but because they are terrified of facing a situation like this. My heart will forever have a missing piece, because Chloe’s life became tied to a price tag. I hope that by sharing this, conversations can begin around accessibility and affordability — so other families don’t have to lose their beloved companions this way. Chloe deserved better. And so do the people who love their animals.

Fantastic experience: Great clinic. Always supportive, friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: This was not a happy Christmas for our family. We lost our daughter’s beloved family cat after she fell seriously ill over the festive period. Everything possible was done to get her medical care, and significant veterinary bills were paid. What we only discovered too late was that the practice was not available on Christmas Day and had no standby or on-call service. We were left with an impossible choice: take a very ill pet home on a drip without proper support, or travel to another town for emergency care at a very high daily cost, which at that point she could no longer afford. In certain cases and for loyal clients, Vets might consider, that if a clients resources is dried up, to perhaps offer a cheaper rate. This lack of emergency availability added immense stress and heartbreak at an already devastating time. Pet owners should be clearly informed upfront about holiday and emergency cover.

Negative experience: Not impressed no vet for 4months now which has effected my dogs care,Lilly was operated on $480 & sent home with poo on her feet she got a infection they couldn't fix it no vet couldn't provide nothing to help i used anticeptic water down & fixed it myself changed vets cost more because she got another infection in the wound which we are dealing with now ..then ziggy had septis needed put down instead they sent him home no pain meds 4 days later needed put down no vet had to go to tarradale were we were told it would of been clear he had severe infection on 1st visit...

They are more than patient and my hat goes off to them. I also highly recommend joining the "Best for Pet" plan they have making it more affordable especially in difficult times. Negative experience: Arrived at the vets, but had to turn back as I had the miss fortune of bumping into a rude old employee in the car park, I had ½ a cup of hot water, and as he passed me, he knocks me, which resulted with the hot water spilling over my hand and pet. I asked for an apology, he rudely said “are you having a laugh you were in my way”, well thanks a lot Michel Lintott, there’s no need to act like a muppet! I will not be coming back.

Negative experience: Was sitting in waiting room, overheard Kayla (vet nurse) tell someone she hated birds being bought in. She "just wants to break their necks and throw them in the bin". Disgusting to hear this from someone who is meant to care for our pets, there's something wrong with that one for sure.. Have heard some shockers since this occured, and honestly you need auditing. Leaving cats to die in their cages and all sort of dodgy stuff going on here. BEWARE

Negative experience: I booked an appointment for our family dog who is a lovable and loyal English Staffy. We have been going to this practice for the past two years however, are disappointed with the treatment received when my dad took our dog to the vet yesterday as he was not weight bearing on one of his legs. The vet nurse accused our dog of trying to bite her and my dad when they both tried to lift his paw up to take a look at what was wrong with his leg. She said she would muzzle him because of this even though he was just checking to see what they were doing?? He doesn’t bite and is very friendly around even the littlest people in our Whānau (as pictured below) which is why I am not happy with the treatment we received on this visit. The visit felt rushed and like there was absolutely no care given for our fur baby or us as the owners. The vet is a stressful place and it’s not fair on either the animal or owner if a vet nurse makes you feel like you’re not being heard or being taken seriously. Our dog is still not weight bearing on his leg so we have had to take him to another vet clinic for a second opinion. Waste of time and money. We won’t be going back here.

Negative experience: Awful experience recently after losing our home in the Cyclone Gabrielle Flooding event, we needed painkillers for our dog when all services were down which the vet kindly gave us and we said to bill us for it, which they did with multiple reminders only within 2 weeks after this natural disaster upended our lives and they also added some sort of account fee to the bill. I'd understand if it was a month later, but have some compassion and give us time! We nearly lost our dog due to the contamination in the flood water (we took her to a different vet). When we went in to the office to settle our bill the staff were very kind, but also let us know it was the manager who works from home chasing the bills. We emailed our feedback about the distress this caused us but have heard nothing in reply. Truly disappointed after being with this vet for 10 years

Fantastic experience: Have been our local vets for along time now, they have been awesome when are pets are not well and also when my cat was hit by a car. They are very professional and very caring. Thanks so much for treating my cat with such care and respect and for the lovely copy of her paw print, was a lovely touch.

Negative experience: Cat annual check up and vaccine on the 29th Dec $68.50 Cat annual check up and vaccine on the 9th $120 Now I know things are going up in price but going up that much in 10 days. Crazy. Not the nicest service from the vet either. Instant off vibes. Don't recommend. I paid $66.50 past January for him. Did a vaccine really go up $60 in a year?

We will be forever grateful. Chloe is an amazing vet. Nursing staff all very caring. Would give them 10 stars out of 5. They are busy, but worth the wait. Thank you. 24/08/2022 edit, our cat has required further surgery on her leg. 5/5 service, Chloe the vet is awesome and we appreciate everything she has done for our cat. She is also very caring. Michael the vet is great. We love this vet clinic and will be forever grateful for their input and will be returning. I wish we had the names of the nurses so we could thank them, they don't get enough public recognition.

I really appreciate how well they care for cats and know just how to calm and reassure them...especially my nervous cat who hates people. Chloe is THE BEST she is amazing with the animals!
