Fantastic experience: Thanks Heather for treating Shadow, Poppy and Phoebe to their vaccinations. I think i could have left Shadow there for the day (he was so happy to see everyone). Lovely to see the team again after a wee break from our many visits with sick puppies. Thankfully a routine visit this time!

Positive experience: Great service but was waiting for 10/15 mins before appointment. My dog was nervously shaking as there was another dog whining and crying while we were waiting but I suppose this cant be helped

Fantastic experience: We have four pugs. One in particular, Leonard has several issues which are very distressing for him and us. He has been a vet visitor since we adopted him at four years old. His very first operation, two days after we adopted him, was to fix a cleft pallette that had been left open from birth. That was wonderous for Leonard, as he could finally drink and eat without choking and half drowning. Unfortunately, he comes with other defects, and the team at Taradale Vets are amazing with him. He is now nearly eleven, and still with us thanks to the efforts of the amazing vets at Taradale Vet Hospital.

The nurses at the front desk are always super welcoming and friendly, the vets take the time to explain things and give you the different options. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Visiting Napier, from Taupō in our motorhome with Beau & Luke. After walk & dinner, both dogs hopped up on our bed, cuddled up and Luke suffered an unknown catastrophic medical event, and was "Lights out". Just dropped in on Taradale vets for help, this morning for processing and cremation. Well the staff were incredible. Freindly caring, sympathetic, nothing too much trouble. Dealt with all the sad details, and even offered to wash Luke's soiled blanket. Caring customer service and professionalism . Full marks Taradale vets

Frankie was seen by Dr Natasha Loghides who was just delightful, helpful, and went out of her way to address a skin allergy issue Frankie has right now. Fantastic experience: first time visit to Taradale Vet Hospital. Very impressed with their service and the way they looked after Jazz the fiesty feral.

Fantastic experience: Lilly had terrible scratching all over her body. Although I tried charging her food to a fish diet, changed her shampoo and used many different. Sprays and ointments, nothing seemed to work. The vet couldn’t find any skin damage or external reason for Lilly’s demise. She prescribed steroid and instantly she stopped her constant itching and became a happy pouch again

Fantastic experience: My appointment was on time. The Vet was knowledgeable and approached my dog in a nice, gentle, safe manner.

Negative experience: Was a regular customer used to really love coming here, but recently the bills have been much higher than quoted. When I asked for more medication for my dog who had ran out, I was told someone would get back to me the same day—no one did. After following up, I was told by another lady they were short-staffed and it would take minimum 48 hours , (which I was fine with). When I followed up the Lady on the phone made it sound like it was my issue they are short staffed as they only had x amount of people working and a list of people waiting and i need to call atleast a week in advance.... well sure, but dont tell your customers they expect a text confirmation the same day and I wont call to follow up? It had now been 7 days with no response despite calls follwing up and no luck getting through. In the past they have been very efficient and i have been a long time customer. As friendly as the vets are.... Unfortunately, I’ve given up and won’t be returning. Although its a further drive from where i live, I contacted Clive Cottage Vets instead and had an appointment and prescription within 3 hours—friendly, fast, and efficient. Worth the travel. (Updated review- this experience was mine from September 2025)

Fantastic experience: The most lovely team at Taradale Vets. I was so sad to see my cat so unwell and they were so kind and compassionate. They gave really good advice on the steps I should take in terms of tests that could figure out what might be wrong with him, they were so helpful. I thought my old boy was knocking on deaths door, but he is doing so much better. I got great after care, they checked in multiple times after his appointments to see how he was doing. So grateful for staff that took such good care of him.

I had Clive as our vet and he actually took the time to listen to the questions I had and was amazing with pup, have registered our pup up with them and will be registering our adult dog with them too :)

Fantastic experience: Our dog had torn her dew claw, very painful. Clive was awesome. Whole staff were very helpful and kind, including the nurses and the reception staff.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with the experience buying off-road tyres for our SUV. The Falken Wildpeaks couldn’t be better and are doing well after 12 months. Went back again for the other car. All good. Thanks guys!

No one would help me when my cat partially amputated her tail, because I didnt have the money to pay immediately, regardless of a spotless credit history One even told me to put her Down This place is the place that helped. They orgaized payment plans and didn't leave my girl in pain. Can not recommend enough. Always amazing service
