Fantastic experience: We sent this to Takanini Vets associates. To Takanini Vets. Recently we required the services of vets with bulldog knowledge. Our French Bulldog Mojo had suffered a spine problem. While our local vets were helpful in the first instance we decided that given the reputation of Takanini Vets we would make an appointment. We phoned on 31st of December and spoke with reception. The service we received during that phone call was excellent. The woman who took the call answered all our questions with ease. She really put our minds at rest about our dog. At no time did we fell that the time we were taking was in anyway a problem. An appointment was made for Mojo to have a consultation with the a vet who knew a lot about French Bulldogs. We arrived at the vets on Thursday 8th. Mojo was seen and x-rays taken of his spine. Again the service we received was excellent. All the information was great from everyone was superb. So from Scott Angela and Mojo thank you very much for being amazing and making us fell so welcome. Please pass this onto everyone at Takanini vets. The work you do and the attitude you all brought to helping Mojo has made this family very happy.

Fantastic experience: We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Eckhard and his team at Takanini Vets. He is truly one of a kind. Every visit reminds us why we travel from far just to see him! The care, compassion, patience, and genuine love he has for animals is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. Today was especially heartwarming. We went in to introduce our new fur baby, and to see if her nails could be trimmed (something that has been impossible anywhere else). Yet somehow, Dr Eckhard just speaks their language. Within seconds, she trusted him (and the wonderful nurse - who's name I can unfortunately not remember) completely. They managed to do what we thought was impossible. She unfortunately scratched his legs during the process, but he acted as if it didn’t matter at all, and our little one came out of there smiling, relaxed and happy! What touched us most was that, despite receiving sad news about one of his own animals, he still gave our girl 100% of his attention and kindness. That level of professionalism and heart is rare. And then the part that absolutely melted us: without looking at any system, he instantly remembered our elderly Jack Russell that he cared for so beautifully before he passed over a year ago. Out of the hundreds of dogs he treats every month, he still remembered our baby's name and said it with such affection. That meant the world to us. Dr Eckhard is not just a vet, he is someone who treats every animal as if they are his own. The drive to Takanini is worth it every single time. We will never trust anyone else with our dogs. If you are looking for a vet who is truly exceptional, look no further. We are beyond grateful for everything he has done for our little ones.

Fantastic experience: Our senior furbaby Bear became ill with cancer. We sought treatment for him and through considered and wonderful care, we had him for almost four more weeks. When the time came to let him go, the vet was very compassionate and caring. It is never easy to have to say goodbye, but the treatment Bear and we received made it more peaceful and less traumatic than I expected it to be. Even once he was gone, and I passed him back to the vet in his blanket, she gently cradled him like he was still with us. She treated us, and more importantly Bear, with the same dignity and compassion that she had when he was still with us. The same care and compassion was displayed by the person who gave me Bears ashes when I picked them up yesterday. I can't express how much I appreciate the staff here. I thoroughly recommend bringing your furbabies here for whatever treatment they need.

Negative experience: This Vet is all about the money not your animal. They sent my bulldog girl with a bun in oven home to die. After ive spent thousands with them as i have 5 bulldogs. So im transferring to True Vets in Ormiston

Unfortunately a few days later Koko’s stitches came out and the receptionist went above and beyond to sort out funding for me so that Koko could come in again and be seen by a doctor and receive medicine free of charge. Koko has been steadily recovering and it’s all thanks to the wonderful staff here at Vet Associates Takanini

Fantastic experience: We love our Vet Associates Takanini….veterinarian Kwon is really good with our Rottweiler Roman, makes Roman feel comfortable and relaxed as our dog gets too excited when he sees other dogs at the clinic + smells from the millions of dogs! Roman all checked for another year or so! I would only go back again if our dog felt comfortable around his Vet!

Negative experience: I ve been there 5 years ago to desex my dog. Everything went smooth except for, after i arrived home i noticed that my dog looks very upset and in need of help, i keeped monitor the situation for an hour tinking that might be because of the surgical operation. After an hour i noticed that my dog was still in distress so i had a close look and i noticed that there was only 3 stiches that was closing the skin where was surgically cut. (i was literally able to look inside the cut) so i drove back to this place where they have added more stiches to close the cut and they blame the dog saying that she have taken them off (wich seems odd because i keep an eye on her non stop). Anyway after having added more stiches i did not had any more issue except for having to give the dog lots of medicine to prevent infection. Yes i had to pay twice to get the job done properly. Not impressed

Negative experience: First time users and probably the last.!!!! Lastnight a family member arrived at the vet to pick up a prescription for our fur baby in pain after having bandages changed after surgery. we werent able to go any earlier as a prescription was being emailed thru to VetNet Takanini, and were told to wait for confirmation. Finally got the go ahead, but got Caught up in "Auckland traffic" and arrived a few minutes before closing. The female did not show any compassion when told her that the medication was for pain killers, was told to come back tomorrow have already closed till etc... I say, Absolutely Incompetent!!! and NO COMPASSION!! Yes there is a way to use the eftpos to pay the $90 to get the medication there and then after closing an eftpos down for the day.. More training how to do that maybe??? Not happy that our fur baby had to suffer another night of pain. Yes I do have her name but I have chosen to email them Directly with her uncaring unhelpful attitude

Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t take my dogs any where else. The team are so knowledgeable and caring, they take the time to fully understand what’s happening and always offer up options. They never try and push you for a sale but go on expertise and with the animals best interest in mind. I completely trust their advice. Even if I moved, I would continue to take my dogs to them.

Negative experience: Been with Vet Associates for 18 years. Sadly can no longer trust them. Received no answer to an email of my concerns as to why in the 5 visits prior to my beloved pup being diagnosed with cancer they did no physical examination of her. It could have been found sooner.

Dr Eckhard was so caring and compassionate, and put our Cootie whom we'd had for over 15 years, to sleep peacefully. Fantastic experience: Our go to vet for many years. We first started with them when they opened but moved briefly to another when we had a discount for spaying our cats; when our vet following that started misdiagnosing our cat and dog we moved back to Vet Associates and haven't looked back. They were accommodating when our dog was put down to allowing someone in to do paw castings and to changing crematorium. Even sent photos of our stolen dog as a pup during her visits when I was at work.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this place. I had come in at the end of February for a hip and elbow xray for my puppy before we had started considering breeding her and had called this morning regarding my results as I still had not received them. I got told that the results only just got sent over the to specialists over in Aus this morning and that I have to wait at least until next week to receive those results. I had also received a seperate bill for this scoring on top of the crazy amount of $600-$700 which was apparently just for the xray. Very upsetting and disappointing that no one had even bothered to check on this as I doubt that i'm the only one waiting on these results for 2 months!

Positive experience: Wait time is long and carpark gets full all the time and to park on the street, the streets are quite narrow which can be quite inconvenient. However, I have dealt with many vets here in Veterinary Associates. I highly recommend Dr.Eckhard S, not only he is knowledgeable but he is so caring and kind, makes owners and dogs at ease. He is the best person I have dealt with. I just had to write a review, to let people know that he is your vet if you are after someone who really takes time and explains everything in detail, listens to your concerns. Obviously, he is very busy as everyone knows he is so good, (I heard people travel from South Island and rural places to see him in specific) so yes while I can be waiting 30-40min on average, I know the visit is totally worth it. I hope Veterinary Associates know how valuable he is. I would be totally lost if he went somewhere else! I work at a medical profession myself, and I can really tell when someone is passionate and proud of their role and I can say he surely is. My dog's health has gone downhill since the last two years and as an owner, it has been some confusing/difficult times, and his support really made me feel comfortable and confident to have him as our vet. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My very first visit, recommended by a friend and i cannot speak highly enough of vet associates. The consultation was very thorough, no tables left unturned. Lovely staff to deal with. The most important part, my dog and I had a very horrible experience from a previous vet clinic which I expressed to vet associates which they took my fears and concerns on board . The outcome of my dogs surgery was fantastic. The clinic was clean, the staff were professional and more importantly I can see that they really care about your pets health. Fantastic experience: After being told to hold my son's dog in a headlock by another vet to cut the double dew claws or he would need iv sedation every time they needed cutting this vet was willing to listen and think outside the box. Really wonderful team I know where I will be going in the future.

Negative experience: Bandaged up our dog after popping hip joint back in. Few days after dog started bleeding. Took him to after hours to find out the vets did the bandages up too tight which cut into our dogs skin causing great deal of discomfort and bleeding. 1 week on, our dog is much better without the bandages and drugs they gave us. And to think they were talking to us about putting him down. Very disappointing over all.

The Staff there were friendly, accommodating and able to assist and explain their procedures, concerns if any and whatever else would need doing to aid in the recovery of the patient's (pet's) Have to return in a few weeks to get stitching's removed.. ✌

Fantastic experience: Omigosh, these guys !! Truly the best. In August this year, my small dog Romeo was attacked by an unrestrained pit bull dog. We initially took him to VSA Sylvia Park as it was after hours. Our customer experience with them was not good (google review posted). After 10 days we transferred to our GP Veterinary Associates Takanini. Dr Eckhard and the team received him (and me) with such gentle compassion, kindness along with Dr Eckhards superb surgical skills - for the remainder of his recovery. We cannot speak more highly of them. If you are considering veterinary treatment for your pet - this team will not let you down. THANK YOU SO MUCH Vet Associates Takanini!! Negative experience: I don’t recommend them - long waiting times which add to anxious dogs stress levels. Avoid using for MPI checks as an inability to complete paperwork accurately resulted in a substantial delay in releasing dogs and a massive increase in stress for all involved. Totally disappointed
