Negative experience: Rude interaction with one staff member. Rudely shouted at my family to go out from the clinic because our dog was "contagious", in front of other customers. What a humiliating and downgrading experience! Do better! Don't highlight that your staff are friendly and that your management is helpful because NOTHING about that interaction was friendly nor helpful! Like another review said.... WORK ON YOUR PEOPLE SKILLS or find another profession!

Negative experience: Today, I witnessed a lady and her dog be mistreated by a rude staff member. I have come to this vet as their website emphasises on their passion to care for pets as well as their owners. But today, I feel as though the receptionist was incredibly rude to this lady, her son and their dog (who seemed to appear unwell). none of these values were shown today and so I left. My heart saddens for the dog because I could see his (or her, excuse me) expression of shame. I won't tell you guys not to come here, do as you wish, but this is what i've seen today and so I have shared what I've witnessed. BTW, i ended up taking my baby to Blockhouse Bay Veterinary Centre (if you would like another recommendation)

Fantastic experience: Got a couple of strays neutered with the SPCA snip and chip program here. Will be using them again for some stray kittens too very reasonable prices and helpful staff with good post op instructions

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience at this clinic. The staff were friendly and caring, and the vet took time to explain the diagnosis and treatment options clearly. My pet was treated gently and with so much compassion. Thank you for the amazing care.

Negative experience: They did 300 worth of additional treatments we never asked for and didn’t ask for our consent. Receptionist was incredibly rude when I queried it.

Positive experience: I’ve been coming here for years and they’ve always been great and accommodating. However, a few months ago I contacted them several times—called, left messages, emailed, even reached out on Messenger—because I needed help with a dog I rescued. Despite their voicemail saying they respond within 24 hours, I never received a call back. No replies to my emails either. Thankfully, I found another vet who was very helpful, and I’ve decided to take my dogs to Sommerville Vets in Howick from now on. They’ve been fantastic. What’s been even more frustrating is trying to get my credit refunded. I’ve emailed multiple times with no response, went in person only to be told to email again, and still nothing. On Messenger, they replied once on 27/11 asking “has this not been sorted?”—I said no, and then silence again. I’m giving 3 stars because they have been good in the past, but the recent lack of communication has been very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: We were recommended to this practice by our dog groomer. Have had great service. When Bono needs more meds I am able to text and they order the meds and text me when ready. I have found the staff and service here really great and would recommend them to other pet owners.

Negative experience: Wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time with these guys, but you always want to assume that the people who work in veterinary clinics (in any customer service role actually) have empathy and common courtesy! My mistake! Don’t bother emailing to book anything at all because you won’t get a reply! And if you do you can trust that it’ll be very short, unprofessional, uncommunicative and incredibly UNHELPFUL. Not even going to try to ring them as others have mentioned that gets you nowhere either. Would love to support a local Mangere clinic but unfortunately it’s impossible - seems like they can’t even be bothered to support their local pets and pet-owners anyway. Thanks for nothing guys

Fantastic experience: Efficient, competitively priced and friendly.

Negative experience: The male receptionist was incredibly rude and unhelpful towards me and my sister. Definitely needs improvement in customer service skills!! Not even a single smile or anything and gave very blunt answers. When I called them the day before they were also rude on the phone and cut the call before I had done speaking. However the young vet who helped us was AMAZING. I would give more stars for her but the horrible receptionist service really left me with an upset feeling.

Negative experience: Does anyone that work there not know how to answer the phone or reply to a dam email?!!!! You cant just walk in without and appointment but how are we supposed to book one when no one gets back to you ever !!!!

Negative experience: This place is one of the worst when it comes to communication. They don’t answer the phone and they don’t reply to emails. Some businesses think that once they’re busy and making money, the success will just continue, but ignoring customers is unprofessional. If you’re not interested or too busy, at least have the courtesy to reply and let customers know, so they can take their business elsewhere instead of waiting around. Very unprofessional, I would not recommend this place at all.

Positive experience: Delivered freight there very friendly place with plenty customers turning up so that should give most of yous ur answer but I didn't buy so pricing ur have to find out 4 urslf

Negative experience: I called this place to try to book an appointment, and the lady who answered was extremely rude! She kept changing her story about needing to be a client before we could book an appointment, then said the next appointment availability was months away. Not a nice way to treat customers! She ended up abruptly hanging up the phone on us. If someone can be so rude to you, imagine how they would treat your pet while you're not there.

Positive experience: Really good vets, good prices, just ring instead of emailing them because the email system is a bit bugged at the moment.

Negative experience: Tried calling multiple times, multiple days, and the phone was never answered. I decided to email instead and over a month later my email has still yet to be replied to. If your thinking of contacting this vet it's probably best to visit in person, otherwise you probably won't get through.

Fantastic experience: Excellent and will be back. We were in a pickle - our Greyhound had been very Greyhoundy (IYKYK) and got himself all cut up on the rocks on the beach in the Coromandel over ANZAC - a lady on the campsite advised seeing these vets when we got back to Auckland to have the stitches out and what a wonderful piece of advice that turned out to be. We liked the no-nonsense yet empathetic approach which was just what our boy needed. To know the humans were in control, would do things quickly and then things would be ok. Thanks so much team and see you when we need our yearly check-up.

Negative experience: Vets are good here. Very helpful and friendly especially the senior vets. Take time out for questions. For how busy this place is, it's poorly managed though. Lack of proper medication. Lack of xrays/scans for dogs. They flip flop between pricing as they wish. One time something can cost $300 per the vet and then main lady might decide to increase prices. The worst thing about this vet is the women running it. Even the employees seem afraid for her. She is pretty rude. Condescending and not really friendly. Hopefully she's friendly to animals behind closed doors. Have been coming here for a year but recently decided to leave because of management.

Fantastic experience: I had not taken my dog Izzy here for quite some years as I moved out of the area, and Izzy also had not needed to go. However, when she tore a ligament in her knee last Xmas, I decided to return to Mangere Vet Clinic even though I am living in Mt Wellington now. I was very happy with the vet who treated Izzy, the care provided, and the cost also. Two weeks ago, unfortunately, Izzy had a stroke, and so we returned again and again had wonderful advice and treatment of Izzy by the vet. Sadly after a week back home to see how she would go, Izzy deteriorated further and after 12 beautiful years we said goodbye and she went to doggie heaven. I thank all staff at Mangere Veterinary Clinic for looking after Izzy, so well and huge thanks to Rachel, who upon my picking up Izzy's ashes, showed me and Izzy absolute respect, compassion, and empathy which was unexpected but very much appreciated. Many thanks from Andrea and Izzy ❤️❤️

Negative experience: Absolutely would not recommend this vet! There was no compassion, no kindness to pets or people, no people skills. Don’t feel there was much competence in the care.

My pet received a worm treatment, and the entire process was seamless and stress-free. The clinic itself has such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making both me and my pet feel at ease. Negative experience: Such rude rude people! My first time at a vets with my cat and they made it the worst experience. Especially when I picked her up I had a few questions and the lady seemed angry and annoyed that I was even asking anything. Will not be returning here ever again

Fantastic experience: I had my dog neutered here as it is cheaper than where I took my other dogs (400+ elsewhere). Unfortunately, he is an all round athletic dog and got himself into more serious injury after surgery. Rachel had been kind enough to see him 3 times this week to assess. Rachel was also very comforting to me when she saw how distraught I was. I’m grateful for her work. Affordable and quick service. I recommend!

Negative experience: Major attitude from Rachel. Even her talking to staff was horrible. No need for it. If shes too stressed then get out off the business. Never going there again.

Fantastic experience: Updated review: 30/09/2024. Still awesome but I got a new vet. She was great, thorough and asked me many questions. 100$ total for her yearly vaccinations. Also got an update to her file for my dogs pet insurer. Southern Cross. Old review: 14/12/2023. No change. All is good and we really are blessed to have you. Forgot to add. They are one of the most well priced vets we have. First Review: Must book appointment. Been with them since I was in my teens. Still the same place as ever and has treated all my animals throughout my life. More packed than ever though and there never seems to be any downtime for the staff. Professional, compassionate and thorough.

Fantastic experience: I have been with this Vet for the past 30 years! I don't normally write reviews. Rachel may rub some people the wrong way, I see her as a knowledgeable person when it comes to ALL things to do with ANIMALS! She deeply cares for our animals, and if there was anyone I wanted to be in my corner because of her extensive knowledge and empathy toward my pet it would definitely be Rachel! Thanks Rachel and the team, love your work!

Fantastic experience: I have 2 kitties roughly 3 months old and they went for their first shots at this vet. They are both from the wild and still scared. The appointment with the vetenarian went SUPER well! It was SUPER affordable and the service was beyond my expectations. I've owned 6 cats in my life time, now 8 and this vet far exceeded customer service/animal handling standards. Keep up the good work Mangere Veterinary Clinic!

Positive experience: First time booking in with Mangere Veterinary Clinic the sign up process was easy, arrived 20 minutes early prior to appointment to register pet. Was given an area to sit in and wait. The veterinarian handled the car with care, he was also happy to answer questions. They do have a dog wash station and a selection of animal toys to choose from

Negative experience: My co-worker suggested me to go to this place for taking care of my pet. I have brought my dog from overseas with every possible vaccination required to clear the quarantine and enter new zealand. One month after my dog arrived in Auckland started to have ichiness and red spot under the tummy. I have visited this place in 2019 as suggested to investigate the problem. I walked with my dog inside the place and i asked for an appointment. As soon as i explained to the receptionist the problem, she started to scream to me to take the dog away from that place and to keep it inside my car. I was forced out like my dog might have a super infective deadly disease while the receptionist start to pour alchool on the floor and all the people inside the shop looked at me like a terrible person. I couldn't even explain that my dog was fully vaccinated and have passed several test just a month before. I waited in the car for 15 minutes then i decided to just leave... I was shocked, and definetly that was an experience that i am not going to forget ever.... Turn out the issue that my dog had at the time was just an allergy reaction that is very common and many other dogs have to the grass and general environment here in Auckland.

Negative experience: So the prices are fantastic, the store/ building well maintained and many of the vets are lovely and helpful. The worst thing about this place is 'Rachel' - I thought maybe she was just not a morning person, but she is downright rude to not only patients but staff also. Unfortunately you come across miserable people in life and she is one of them (the reviews only confirm this). Would be an easy 5 stars if not for her.

Negative experience: They made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to tell me not possible to see my cat because too busy. Come back 3 hours later. How disgusting! I will never return there. Too caotic clinic

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible service. Never answer the phone. And when the lady did answer the phone, she was rude and didn’t want to help. Just wanted clinical notes of my cat for insurance purposes. A simple thing to do yet to lazy to email. If I can rate them zero I would. 1 star is too generous.

Fantastic experience: Fairly busy so it can be hard to get through but they take really great care of the pets we have bought there.

Negative experience: Have been going to this vet with my dog for over a year and am finally fed up. Each and every time we’ve had an appointment we’ve had to wait for a minimum of 20mins!!! Have waited for 37mins before. Spoke with the manager Rachel about this issue and she had nothing to say. At all. Just listened and walked off. Terrible manager. Not only is their time management horrendous but they never pick up the phone. I have to call at least 6 different times to get an appointment scheduled. Their services are not even worth the money you spend. I would 100% say stay clear of this vet clinic unless looking for beyond mediocre service.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, knowledgeable, friendly, and kind vet taking gentle care of my cat today. The male nurse was patient and kind to my cat, too. The receptionist was also professional, courteous, and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Cannot thank Mangere Bridge Vet enough for accommodating us during a very stressful time. The Vet had to forgo her lunch hour to see us before our appointment time,everyone was so kind and gracious. We are stoked that our Aura is well. Thank you for great service.

Negative experience: There’s something that’s certainly not right with this Clinic and their approach. The head vet who’s also probably the owner certainly needs some in-depth training in people skills. Some behavioural reprogramming would be very good for her. How she’s ever chosen to become a Vet will remain a mystery. There’s no compassion or kindness in any of her interactions. She would be excellent as a Corrections Officer or a Prison Guard. People who come to them with their very sick and sometimes critically unwell pets need more than impersonal prescriptions from half baked vets (couple of them are beyond belief incompetent, some are okay). It’s a mystery why this head vet is so abrupt and what makes her so unfriendly and rude!! They are always overwhelmingly busy and rushed and skip vital steps in their treatment plan. As the head vet she should be ensuring that the vets are following the protocol properly instead of barging in on them frequently with her queries and demands during their consultation sessions. Their fees are very economical and is probably a big advantage for people who are not insured! This could be one of the major reasons why they are still in business!

Fantastic experience: We cannot speak too highly of the wonderful team at Mangere Vets. We have had cause to visit them at least five times in the past few months with two of our cats and each time we were impressed with their professionalism and the care our pets received. We couldn't help being aware just how busy the staff were, but they were still able to give the clients/pets personal attention and time. A really ethical clinic dedicated to animal welfare.

Fantastic experience: These guys were bloody Awesome. They assisted us even though our dog was not registered with their practice. I would highly recommend this veterinarian practice.

Negative experience: Bloody useless. To start with the phoneline is always engaged with Noone picking up so you have to leave a message and hope someone comes back to you the same day. Have seen them multiple times because they are my local and have never left satisfied AND they are useless with following up on information when they say they will. To top it off I’m still waiting to hear back about when they can “squeeze” me in to get my cat neutered……I’ve been waiting 4weeks for a phone back. Don't bother. I recommend not wasting your time here.

Negative experience: If there was anything lower would give that. Vet last was extremely extremely extremely rude not only just to customers but to her own staff. Felt bad for the reception guy. I would have quit such a toxic environment. My pup went there for Spey surgery and we were not even told how surgery went just puppy handover. Stitches which other places do internally they did body sutures which take much longer to heal and extremely itchy for the pups. DO NOT RECOMMEND MANGERE VETS TO ANYONE! Absolutely rubbish

Negative experience: As we were passing through the area we found a deceased cat. It is standard practice to drop off deceased cats at vet clinics to be scanned for a microchip. Upon entering the clinic we were met with unfriendly staff (we had to approach a wandering receptionist) and after requesting the cat to be scanned, we were left in the waiting area for quite sometime until someone came out to scan the cat, which was quite stinky and noticeable. After scanning they did not want to accept the cat and asked us to take it back as they will be charged for “disposal”. I find it quite shocking for what should be a professional vet clinic to expect the public to deal with deceased animals. There lack of empathy was very disappointing as this industry requires caring people. I would not trust this clinic with live pets based on their treatment of deceased. I hope the cat was disposed of properly but based on this interaction I am not hopeful.

Fantastic experience: We have brought our animals here for treatment for many years. Well priced and the staff genuinely care about the animals. They work with you to create a feasible treatment plan for your fur baby. Main downside is it is a very popular clinic, so getting through on their phone to make an appointment can be difficult.

Negative experience: Super rude. It felt like the lady was talking down on me the whole time and barely talked to me when we went to pick up our cat after he had surgery (they didn’t give us pain relief medication or anti-inflammatory medication which I found weird). I don’t feel comfortable going back, it’s very crowded in there. The way she acted, to me speaks volumes. She just told us to feed him like normal and let him outside after a day and then she stormed off. I didn’t even get a chance to say anything or ask questions. I get that people have bad days but she was talking to other customers nicely and with manners. I was quite thrown off. They are cheap for a reason.

Fantastic experience: Great vets lovely owner awesome service amazing with our dogs. Carried my Pitbull out of the clinic cause she was scared. All the staff are just amazing and great with animals.
