Fantastic experience: Very caring vet and staff

Fantastic experience: Very kind staff, sooo loving and gentle with my ragdoll Ivy (who is not always very good about being picked up and yet is very happy to be picked up by her vet Dr Genevieve). Dr Genevieve has a wonderful manner with cats and humans alike, she explains everything simplified enough for my non-scientific brain to understand, but thoroughly enough so that I am left without questions. Off the top of my head in our 2 years at Koru we've had both Nicole and Courtney work diligently to find us appointments over the phone (both have very kindly accommodated my own working hours and Ivy being difficult and making us run late) and Pipi was a superstar vet nurse and receptionist when we visited this past week. Thank you team for all that you do.

Fantastic experience: I took my kitten in yesterday for vaccinations and microchipping, and I had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, making the whole process smooth and easy for both of us. They handled my kitten with such care that it ended up being a stress-free visit, which I really appreciated. Thank you for your wonderful service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your clinic!

Koru Vets Tauriko was great in helping us at short notice to get some teeth pulled that was bothering him. Negative experience: By far the worst vet I’ve ever taken my dog too.. my poor dog went to have surgery at Koru Vets, took all day to get her in, once she did she was uncomfortable and uneasy for being in a cage for so long, at that point they needed me to come keep her calm. After surgery my girl came out with poo all over her feet, not a single sign of anyone even attempting to wipe her paws, there was no affection given to my dog after she walked through those doors. Total was 1200+, for literal poop all over her paws, she was shaking and so scared considering she loved the vets in gate pa. We came back for an anal gland express as it’s helped our girl in the past at our regular vets, but when we came to Koru, the nurse aggressively put her hand in her anus, the times we’ve done it before (at gate pa vets) they were so gentle, loving, and caring towards our girl. Not at Koru.. my brother noticed how aggressive they were straight away because it wasn’t what we were used to seeing. She then was leaking from the area almost instantly after arriving home, when confronting the receptionist about our issues she was so lovely and understanding. Then when speaking to the foreign vet, she became so defensive, arguing her point, and pretty much telling me I’m wrong for relaying my experience with them. All around an awful place to go. We take our animals here for comfort, help and love. Please don’t be in the industry if your main concern isn’t animals and if you’re going to get upset by someone’s feedback. Thank u.

Negative experience: Today I visited Koru Vets and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming from the moment I arrived, which only added stress to an already worrying situation with my cat. I was shocked to be quoted nearly $800 just to stitch a small, clean, uncomplicated wound, an amount that felt extremely excessive for such a simple procedure. When I questioned the cost, the staff became defensive and unwilling to explain the charges in a transparent way. Instead of helping me understand the breakdown, they shut down the conversation, which made the whole experience feel even more uncomfortable. The clinic itself didn’t inspire confidence either. The shelves were nearly empty, and there was even a sale table with expired food and supplements, something I found concerning for a veterinary practice. Overall, I left feeling frustrated, unheard, and uneasy. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t return, and I hope they take steps to improve their communication, and overall environment.

Positive experience: Solid vet care, i already knew and told them it was an infection and they were readily available (no significant waiting delays to get an appointment) . They are more expensive than other vets - 85 dollars for a less than 10 min consult. The antibiotic prices were also much higher. But the price was worth it when my dog needed antibiotics and I couldn't get into my regular vets (wait was 24 hours for an appointment - I don't want my dogs heath deteriorating waiting).

Negative experience: Not happy I tooky puppy here Sat for her nale to be cut.shpuld of come to 20 or something it come to 40 something as had to pay for 2 nurses that did not need as I was I with my puppy. Don't go here at all

Fantastic experience: I’m new to town and needed a new vet. The first time I came here my dog had an abscess and two broken teeth. The team gave amazing care and helpful explanations of what was going on. I was so worried about claiming through my insurance and the team were super helpful and went above and beyond to make sure the notes were in order. Also thanks for being so patient when my dog howled for hours after surgery

Negative experience: It’s taken me a while to be able to write my review since losing my furr baby. I feel like Genevieve took total advantage of my love for Dolce and i do not at all recommend Koru vets! Also Extremely expensive and would pay to shop around. I have since found a different vet for my new furr baby and couldn’t be happier as it’s a third-the price with exceptional service.

Fantastic experience: Found four abandoned kittens and they have been such an amazing help, teaching us how to properly care for them also have a nice friendly atmosphere :)

Negative experience: Sent my wife in with our kitten which had been in a fight, they quoted $1665.03 for the surgery. We went elsewhere and had it done for $126.

Negative experience: My dogs leg nerves were damaged and lead to his premature death, I really regret going there.

Fantastic experience: Took my very timid little girl in to get spayed, and the staff were awesome with her! They were very patient and when I came to pick her up I could tell she'd been treated well. They also explained the healing process really well, gave me written instructions and made sure I fully understood how to care for her before we left. The little girl isn't a fan of her new headwear but I 100% recommend Koru Vets!

Fantastic experience: Pepe and I love this place. We got her spayed yesterday and I could tell they treated her well because she came out looking comfortable and happy. She is back to her normal self today. Genevieve did a great job! Courtney (at reception when we arrived) was super lovely. I called this morning to say she was doing well and had a few questions and they were happy to answer and gave me really great advice (sorry forgot the name of the lady on the phone). Prices are also great. We will definitely be back here for everything we need

Negative experience: I took our puppy to Koru Vets in Tauriko on a Sunday after she was injured in an accident, I was charged over $1256.16 even though the Vet said there were no broken bones or serious injury. I took her to another vet for a second opinion.. it turns out she had a broken pelvis. The second vet charge around $300 for X-rays and diagnosis. I believe Koru vets are greedy and in this case mis diagnosed my puppies injuries. Will be heading to the dispute tribunal unless reimbursed.

Fantastic experience: The team at Koru Vets are amazing especially Sarah, she always makes it an enjoyable experience for Ted and is such a friendly happy person. Highly recommend them.

Positive experience: For your reference: Customer name: Michelle Palmer Friendly and approachable. Appreciated that you were open on a Sunday. Brought in our 9 week old puppy (Artemis) in with an upset tummy. Established that she did not have a temperature, but was slightly dehydrated. We left her in your care for the day, to complete re-hydration therapy only. Although we did sign a permission form to allow you to provide additional treatments if necessary, we would have appreciated a phone call before you threw in an x-ray @ $165.00. (In hindsight, this decision left us and our puppy, open and vulnerable without consultation.) Would suggest more transparency around your fees/costs as the bill was very expensive, compared to other emergency vets we have taken our other pets to, with similar ailments.

Positive experience: Lovely care and approachable. POOR, unfortunate attitude understanding of complementary medicine that has scientific back up, and being used by other local vets in the city. My dog was very happy to for ure treats and aroha.

Fantastic experience: They took my cat with his severely injured leg, after 5 or 6 other Vets either didn't answer or said you're not one of our customers so we won't take you or gave poor advice to put some Dettol or Savlon on it and call him in the morning. Koru Vets took our emergency dealt with it as the emergency it was, and gave us suggestions towards payment. Thank you, you are Angels. Ps don't ever use Dettol or Savlon on their skin ...it will cause burns and blister?

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love these guys. Just the kindest team, especially Gen the vet. My little dog Sophie is super nervous and very difficult to handle, however they are always so patient and gentle with her. I totally trust the team at Koru Tauriko and would recommend them 100% with my precious fur babies :)

Fantastic experience: We have always had a great experience at Koru Vets in what often can only be described as worrying situations with our dog! The team are always very calm, patience and caring, and provide options and professional advice clearly so we understand. And best of all, our dog who was originally really quite nervous, loves visiting Koru Vets (even when sick or injured) which is a testament to the way the team treat their four legged patients.

Fantastic experience: When I leave Jasper at Koru Vets i know that he is well looked after . They send photos of him when he is in the cattery to me that means that they care . They always let me know how he is getting on when he as stayed there when he has been sick.Jasper loves the staff and they love him. .

Fantastic surgeon - performed a very difficult operation and he alongside the other wonderful vets, saved my beautiful cat's life - unbelievably Hercules is able to walk again and is flourishing. Fantastic experience: My family and I highly recommend Dr Genevieve Botha, who twice saved our dog’s life. She diagnosed our dog very quickly and without extremely expensive tests. The surgeries were done at a top level as well as the post-op care. Genevieve sent me photos of my girl as soon as she woke up after surgery. Genevieve is very caring, kind and knowledgeable in theoretical and practical aspects. She is also looking after our other dog, who is on regular meds now due to his age. In the past my family has had cats, other dogs, pups, guinea pigs, a goat, chickens; so we use vet services a lot. Genevieve is the most highly professional vet we have ever met and an excellent surgeon. We can see that she does her job with true love and care, and it counts.

Negative experience: Terribly over priced. Ripped us off when we had rescued two young dogs that weren't ours. Charged for xrays they can't seem to provide us with. Will NEVER use them again. They should be ashamed!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fabulous services actually care for the animals. They don't just see four legged $$$ signs. Are very competitive and will be far cheaper than most and are flexible. Saved my animals life thanks sooo much guy's. Again they have came to the table with a very competitive price save 3 of ny animals now great A++

Negative experience: Over priced even by Auckland standard's. We have two dog's and will now find a vet that offer's a good service at a reasonable price.

Fantastic experience: We've been taking our big dog 'Van' to Joerg and his team for years mainly for minor things like vaccinations and checkups. Two years ago Van developed a nasty ear infection which got very aggressive. We had his ear canal operated on and after months of of anti-biotics not working and this procedure was amazing. Last year his cruciate joint went and after thorough consultation from Koru vets we went ahead with major surgery once again putting in a titanium plate (or something along that manner). This was literally life changing for Van, he now is walking healthy again, running about and is happy again. The care the vet nurses gave was second to none, they really cared for Van post both surgeries. Highly recommended if you want good thorough veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: We have 2 dogs who, over the years, have had a number of medical issues, some VERY serious (life threatening). Prior to finding Koru vets, we had one specific problem which we had tried to get sorted via multiple vets to no avail. Jeorg of Koru vets was the ONLY one who took the time to delve into the issue and get to the bottom of it. Once he had diagnosed the condition... our dog was treated effectively. We have ALWAYS found the staff of Koru vets warm and friendly to both us and our pets. They have cared for our dogs (and our dearly missed 2 cats) for many years now and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. They are good people, with good knowledge and are keen to keep your pet(s) in good health!

Fantastic experience: Had to take our puppy in after he started showing some worrying symptoms, the staff at Koru Vets were very sympathetic. It’s obvious the staff have a genuine love for animals and I know our puppy was left in good hands and would be getting plenty of cuddles. Negative experience: Booked in our two rabbits to be neutered here as they were having a special on neutering @ 112 each .... the afternoon before the surgery they rang us to say they weren't going to give us the special anymore and the price was now 168 each . Was very disappointed especially waiting 6 days and telling us on the eve of the surgery !
