Fantastic experience: Lisa and the team at Holistic Vets always treat us (2 cats, a lab and a staffy) with such care and respect. My staffy always thinks it's such a treat to go to the vet! We have had a few health issues over the years and the treatment and communication have always been A++

Negative experience: Update : I got threatened and bullied by owner voicemail that I’m not welcoming anymore if I don’t call back and take down 1 star, I won’t !!!!!! It’s so not clever to talk this to customer, you just too arrogant and make it more upset. No not planning to go back anyway there’s lots of vet in Tauranga. I was about to call back when I saw just 1 missed call but your voicemail is not nice and unkindly so as your reception) why do you lie I got only 1 missed call from you and 1 voicemail, where multiples??? For this situation, there’s no telling about this regulations in advance before and you should if the customer need to pay more (you think that the money falling from the sky. Not that I don’t have money to pay more for 120$ vet or more and another $130 injection but I think it’s not fair if you misinformation, some might not prepared budget for more pay), don’t you think I tried to explain hard to your reception for your mistake? Old review I always went there for monthly injection for my dog, I forgot 1 appointment not with the vet but with nurse and called for rebook, got denied and said that I need to see the vet. My dog is fine and she’s doing this for over 2 years and see doctor sometimes for changing medicine or sickness. Tried to explain that I don’t need to see vet for the one that I missed, the reception is not listening at all, said if I want to come I have to see vet only. Really? I’d been here for 6 years, loves doctor there, I think I will look for others clinic then. They wouldn’t mind lost 1 loyal customer

Fantastic experience: So good to have options rather than the one-size-fits-all “medicine” when our fur-babies aren’t doing so well. Also grateful for the great work the volunteers at ARRC do on the daily. After the recent storm we found a Sooty Shearwater who had been in the ocean tumbler, lost all his waterproofing and was in a bad way. It was Easter weekend and still very stormy so we wrapped him up and kept him warm in a quiet darkened box until shock subsided and he started moving around. Then we delivered him wrapped in towels in his warm, dry box to the bird cages out from of ARRC / Holistic Vets on Fraser Street to get expert care.

Fantastic experience: Liza, Justis, Linda and the rest of the Holistic Vets team have been absolutely amazing working with me and my reactive dog over the past year to get him confident enough to go in for a dental procedure after a very traumatic episode at another vet practice. They have treated my dog, my partner and myself with great care and kindness. I am particularly grateful for their confident expertise, and their excellent communication skills. He underwent a successful procedure this past Monday, and the care and attention to detail during his recovery has been just amazing. Cannot recommend Holistic Vets enough!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr Liza is the most gentle kind soul to all animals and humans. I have had the pleasure of bring my 4 boys to Holistic vets, where they been taken in with the upmost care, with my boys being rats I often get weird looks and extra fees, but with Dr Liza at Holistic Vets they get the same treatment as such a dog or a cat. One of my boys Gus has been seeing Dr Liza for just over 2 years but now no longer. Her and the team were so gentle with my boy and made is cross over the rainbow easy, kind and pain free. I challenge anyone to find a Vet with a kinder soul and highly recommend her and her team to everyone from small creatures, to large.

I cannot reccomend the team here enough. They were amazing and made a very stressful time SO much easier. The follow up care calls are something I have not had at any of my previous vets and they were so very appreciated. Your team went above and beyond to make our boys surgery something we could afford and I cannot thank you enough for it. I will be actively recommending your practice.

Fantastic experience: The Titer testing is excellent service, prevention of over vacation, a common problem. This practice understands that vaccines are not benign

Fantastic experience: We take our 2 dogs to Holistic Vets in Tauranga and we wouldn't take them anywhere else. Caring, tentative, thoughtful, integrity, peaceful, clear comms, great management, those are some of the things I can think of to describe them. Just call them, make an appointment and you see for yourself.

Negative experience: Dr Liza does a job that involves animals, you think they would love and care for them but no she had the audacity to put someone's family member down after they trusted you to help them. Your are a disgrace and you should never be near any animal of any sort.

Negative experience: We went here for a few years because my mother did. But once I overheard a conversation with the vet Liza and my mother and I couldn’t believe HOW RUDE she was to my mother who was trying to get some comforting advice about her dying dog. She strongly advised my mum to put down her dog.. basically to just get rid of her as a customer and we regret ever putting out pets lives in her cruel hands. I never went back with my pets after that as I had never got a good feel off this vet anyway. So to see what happened to Chopper.. just showing her try colours really. Not surprised Edit: your response totally expected. Also the extreme rudeness your vet showed was long BEFORE the chopper support. Trying to claw your way back from the hole you are in. Trust me, I WOULDNT COME BACK EVEN IF YOU PAID ME! Good riddance!! and never got a good feeling from your practice anyway!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Hollistic vets especially Liza. We changed vets to to get the Hollistic support that helped our dog Bella live a lot longer than she would have otherwise. I’m not sure how anyone can say Liza and this team do not care for your animals it’s completely obvious that they do and we so appreciated everything you did for Bella always there no matter what time of day or night. Wouldn’t hesitate to continue to use Hollistic vets as they go the extra mile thanks so much.!

Negative experience: You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for putting down an innocent dog after YOUR dr acted in ways that caused the animal to be uncomfortable. SHE chose the job as a vet knowing the risks of the occupation yet she still had a poor dog caged and not walked for a year because she was trying to force the right people to follow her orders of putting the dog down. I’ll see you in hell lady, I won’t forget how evil you are and I’ll be one of the tortured souls that will never leave you alone.

Negative experience: Dont bring your dogs here you are literally putting your dogs life in danger and may end up with no dog. So sad that this is how animals are treated here.

Negative experience: I used the services of Dr Liza many years ago. I remembered her cause she was quite rough when handling my pet. I just read the newspaper article regarding the murder at the hands of this vet and bought memories of her ill-treating poppy. Seems her attitude hasn't changed lucky for us we moved cities boy I would be worried taking my pet there.

Negative experience: Holistic Vets. I’m sorry but my experience definitely wasn’t!! Where to begin. My dog was injected 3/4 times for a sore shoulder(muscle). I quote,sorry he’s a bit of a pin cushion today! without being told what it was they were injecting ‍♀️Was then told he would need a series of injections over 4 weeks was handed a pamphlet. 24 hours after first of the four injections he was very ill and didn’t move for the whole day. I referred to the said pamphlet which had no mention whatsoever of any possible after effects to look out for so I presumed he had eaten something, he came right the following day. So thinking nothing of it I returned for his second injection, well 24 hours later he’s totally crook again vomiting etc and didn’t move again for the whole day. Phoned Vets, can the vet phone me please. After 4 hrs later and a sick dog I hadn’t heard so I phoned again. My first question after searching google was why I wasn’t made aware at all of the possible horrendous side effects, response was and I quote we don’t have time for that. I could go on and on!! Just another business hell bent on the $$ rather than the welfare of the animal, Sad

Fantastic experience: Moved to Tauranga 19 years ago and have been seeing Leza and her team over this time with a cat & dog. I have never had the need to change as the team is caring, compassionate and offer great advice. Leza genuinely cares for my dog and his wellbeing

She had to be put down, and this was done at home in the nicest (if possible) way. The special touch when giving me the ashes, with a tree seed, and even a little card afterwards. You guys are great, and I regret I didn't meet you earlier. I can't recommend a better clinic. Thanks again XXX

Fantastic experience: I've been meaning to post a review for sometime to share our families gratitude for the care Liza and her team showed our family & border collie Louie last year. We nearly lost Louie who is a young dog, but through Liza's incredible care, recommendations and compassion he survived and is now living his best life. We've moved away from Tauranga (to Christchurch) but if we were still in Tauranga Holistic Vets would be our number 1 choice. I've recently read about the trauma Liza and her team have been through and wanted to show our support. Liza is without a doubt one of the most capable and kind vets and human we have encountered in the many years we have owned pets. We (the Powell Family) wish her and her team all the best during these challenging times.

I am dumbfounded that a dog who mauls a sheep is euthanised without question, but when a lovely lady like Liza is attacked, people rush to the defense of the dog because of their ignorance! You guys are awesome, best Vet clinic in the Bay. You can trust these guys 100% to look after your pets.

Negative experience: Only putting one star because I can’t put any less… your actions from our appointment on October 14 2021 have impacted my dogs life and because of that he may end up dead. I found out this is the second time an animal has been killed after a similar vet incident involving you and another dog in 2008. We should not end up with a dogs life on the line after a visit to a vet clinic.

Fantastic experience: Best vet in tauranga. Looked after my cat after surgery like he was their own and kept me updated with everything that was happening and worked with me to find the cheapest but best options for my boy. Great team, 100% recommend them!

Negative experience: Think twice about going here. We had 3 x dogs and 1 x continuously ill cat (which we never got a diagnose for) going there for nearly 2 years on and off. Good service was very sporadic and didn't take kindly to having a guilt trip put on us for wanting to take our cat there on a Sunday, as it was cold, not moving and nearly dead. Wrong vets if you want empathy from the on call vet/owner.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't rate this place high enough. The level of love, care and respect these people have for not only animals but also their family. I've been coming here for 3 years and have never once faulted them. Recently we had to put our beloved boy Merlin to rest. Lisa made sure everything was comfortable and that she could pass with ease. Holistic vets listen to your needs and do their upmost best to achieve the best result and outcome for your animals. Definitely worth more than a 5 star review in my eyes and definitely a clinic worth visiting with your beloved furry friend.

Negative experience: High fees and no results. Staff are friendly enough, no real issues there. We took our cat in as our usual vet was unavailable at short notice. He got a usual check up, so far so good, then we were left alone in the stuffy consult room while they did bloods and decided what to do for the better part of an hour. He was then returned to us and we were charged almost $300 and given no answers, but told to bring him back in the morning if he wasn't better. He was worse in the morning (sorry we fibbed a little bit team), but there was no way we were taking him back to you. He's been with Welcome Bay vets for the past three days & is back to his happy healthy self. That 3 day stay and treatment cost less than the hour of your time. Do better please.
