Negative experience: Absolutely impossible to get in contact, rang multiple times and days to arrange medication for my pet as they are running low. I understand that businesses can get busy but there wasn't even a follow up on my messages.

Fantastic experience: Great people. Can almost always get appointments within 24-36h. Very responsive and helpful via phone/email and love having the online booking system. We’re Long-time clients and keep coming back.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service and medical support for my fur babies

Negative experience: Our appointment was canceled because we were 10 mins late in traffic. My partner rushing from work early. Our cat was last seen by them with an ear infection. This week he grew an absess that ended up bursting. The vet knew about his weight-loss and was supposed to be seen today for blood tests. Our cat was needed to be seen, burst absess, ear infection, weight loss. Like most businesses most seem to be purely about money not really caring about the animals. My partner had waited previously for you and waited 10 minutes, would of been nice if you did the same. We rushed to try get there in time. My partner popped in and said he'll be right back to get our cat so they knew he was rushing then i got a call to say they have to cancel. Don't recommend this place. Take your pets elsewhere.

Negative experience: DO NOT TRUST CATHERINE AVOID SHIRLEY VETS If you want a vet that don’t do any tests or thorough investigations then say PUT HER DOWN, charging the earth to “” say “” then go here!! My partner came home distraught thank christ he didn’t listen to her. Later that day all our whanau took our girl to a very reputable highly recommended vet elsewhere after Catherine’s couldn’t be forked attitude Our girl is now thriving in great health better than ever actually. Temu vet Catherine should be wiped of her vet license

The staff are incredibly kind, caring, and always very understanding of both the animal patient and their human, because they know just how stressful it can be when your furbaby is unwell. They take the time to accommodate different behaviour and social needs with so much patience and gentleness. My dog absolutely loves going here, even after multiple tests and needles, she continues to love it because the team treats her with such compassion and warmth (even though she’s cray-cray, sorry team) It’s clear they truly care, and that makes all the difference. Fantastic experience: We can’t thank the team at Shirley Vets enough for everything they’ve done for our boy. After being told by an after-hours clinic to put him down, we brought him straight here — and they immediately gave him the care, attention, and kindness he desperately needed. They got him back on IV fluids, checked his temperature, syringe-fed him, and kept such a close eye on him all day. By that same evening, he was perking up, eating, and purring again. They never gave up on him — and because of that, he’s still here with us Every single person we dealt with genuinely cared, and you could see how much they love what they do. We’re so grateful. Fantastic experience: My dog, Charlie, is my life. A few weeks ago he became very unwell and needed to have emergency surgery after swallowing a piece of bark that lodged in his small intestines. We have used Shirley Vet Clinic for years as their staff are all so caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. Once again I was blown away by everything that the team did to save my boy. The aftercare was also top notch. Charlie is nearly back to 100%. I can’t thank the team enough for everything. They are amazing. The clinic is a busy one, but the service is friendly, prompt and professional. It doesn't matter how small my query has been, they have always been kind and explained things very well. They offer a wide range of services, have excellent opening hours, and their knowledge and expertise means I am 100% comfortable to have my pets under their care, and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a vet clinic.

He is a big 40kg dog and someone held the door open for me for over 5 minutes trying to coax him in and then when we went to see the vet she was so lonely and friendly! Appreciate all the effort

Negative experience: Poor experience for us unfortunately, filled out a Customer Satisfaction Survey in detail after the loss of our dog, and feel it wasn’t taken very seriously. When I went into the practise to pick up my dogs ashes it felt like a walk of shame, horrible experience, I have never been back, nor have others I know that were enrolled in the practise.

Negative experience: What an absolute outrage, me and my partner have been bringing our dog in since we got him and everytime we have see an issue with him we take him in there just to have the fear of God put into us, that's all after we call half a dozen times and not get an answer. I rung up twice earlier on today regarding some files to be sent through as only one piece of information was sent and Then i left messages for them to not even listen to them. Would be much appreciated to have a little more care for your patients and listen to the messages as they could be very important.

Negative experience: If I could give a zero star I would Do not recommend at all, Have had far to many issues with these guys so decided to go elsewhere. Don't answer there phones and then charge for a no show fee, Unsure how I'm supposed to cancel the appointment without an answer. Rung up 7 times to no avail and still didn't get an answer. Also the customer service we got everytime we were in was pretty shocking other then once. The vet Tracey was a joke and didn't even listen to what we had to say about our dog but had an input on putting him down without any other further investigation into his health. Instead said the 5k we had to spend to get answers would only be interesting for her and hard decisions for us. Moved to another vet and they decided to send only half the information and files over to our new vets

Fantastic experience: I had an appt with my anxious, reactive dog tonight and they were more than welcoming. Even the waiting customers were soo good when my boy had his “Piglet toy” with him. Called him my problem child.. I asked if we could borrow a soft muzzle for our appointment. No problem. Vet nurse Paul offered to do my boys annual updates instead of the Vet, which was a little cheaper. Paul was soo good with my boy and made my stressful situation soo much better! (My boys a sucker for treats!) Paul got my boy on his good side, even offered him a pigs ear when we were done! (Lady at reception ended up getting another pigs ear for the queen waiting in the car! I missed her name, but she was also brilliant!) Have been going to Shirley vet now for nearly 9 years and have never had an issue with them! Always helpful and giving suggestions and support when needed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fantastic experience: Within a few months apart we had to say good bye to our cat Teddy and our Dog Molly, I would just like to say thankyou to Shirley Vet for being so helpful kind and understanding Especially when it came to Molly our Dog. Thankyou for having medication at the ready for Molly, we got to spend a bit more time with her because of this, letting us call into pick it up when we needed it without having to make appointment to see her. Thankyou for being so gentle and kind when it came for us to say goodbye, it was very sad that day, but she went to sleep laying in the sun in the back of the truck where she loved to be. Thankyou Shirley Veterinary ❤️ I highly recommend them.

We had a very sad situation and they were so caring, we were a mess when we took our cat in knowing that we would more than likely say goodbye, they wrapped her up so beautifully and put some lavender on her bless them. Fantastic experience: We have been with Shirley Vets for almost two years. We take both our dogs here. The routine check up and vaccinations are done efficiently. They always give immediate appointments for emergency cases. They are well equipped for all sorts of situations. My puppy had a suspected blockage, the vet couldn’t do a normal check as my puppy is timid and reactive usually but on that day she was very reactive. So they suggested a proper check under sedation and they also did xray and blood tests to be 100% sure. I know people want them to be magicians and tell us exactly what’s wrong or not by just feeling the dog. But it’s not realistic is it? I’d rather the vet do everything possible to be safe. So I’m very grateful they are very thorough with their checks. Thank you heaps to the team at Shirley vet clinic.

Fantastic experience: Great fast service here. Lovely staff who truly enjoy what they do. They offer puppy classes that are cheap and great for new puppy owners. Their general vet services from my experience have always been great, and the care they have for the animals is very comforting. They go above and beyond. Their building is accessible and always clean. I have always found their communication to be great, whether it be by email, phone, or in person. I would absolutely recommend this vet service.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly, knowledgeable staff who make a visit to the vets as pleasant as it could possibly be. They have a lot of experience treating greyhounds and therefore have a better understanding of how to deal some of their unique issues than most other vets that we have come across. Highly recommend regardless of what breed of dog you have.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place filled with wonderful people. My chihuahua has a tendency to be dramatic, ripping off claws when he does his zoomies and being allergic to stuff. Despite always visiting the vet for painful reasons he loves going there! All of the staff are animal lovers and they are also great at dealing with overreacting fur parents like myself. When LJ had an allergic reaction to anaesthetic (when being neutered) the staff were straight in it and they carried him around all afternoon to keep him calm and monitor him. He was so tiny and weak and they protected my little guy so well. I am indebted to them for that. I could write all day with examples of their marvellousness but I think I have made myself clear. Team Shirley Vet for life!! Pew pew…

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR FUR BABIES!! We spent several of HUNDRED dollars for our baby here, Tracy the Vet made this a horrible process, she insisted my cat had aids, and even when the first test said negative she insisted again, then the second test had negative. Instead of finding out what was wrong with my baby she then told us to pay a further 200 dollars to had ANOTHER aids test. Our cat died. And that third test was also negative. This clinic wasted money, time, resources, instead of finding out what was wrong with our cat, and it cost him his life. Please put the best treatment options for your cat and go to ANY other vet.
