Fantastic experience: Great vets my Lilly cat on mend after abcess in tail , kind gentle staff

Negative experience: Someone bought my cat in to get her fixed when she’s already been fixed and microchipped and had a collar on. Without checking if she had a microchip and not even seeing that she had been cut open before they cut her open and realised only then that she had already been fixed. They also promised me cat food as “compensation” and didn’t even give me that. Completely useless

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Nicky enough. These past few years we always took our rescue staffy x to see Nicky...I have an MSc in biological sciences and was constantly impressed by how knowledgeable this vet is on everything from anatomy, physiology to medicine. When our girl had an accident and we thought we were going to lose her, Nicky was able to help manage her pain so well that she lived for another year still enjoying her daily walks. Sadly we had to put her down this week, and Nicky made the process fast and peaceful and talked us through every step of the way. I've taken rescue dogs to various vets over the years and never have any of them been as compassionate and caring as this vet. If we get another dog in the future this is the only place we will take them to. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our girl over the years, words cannot express how much we appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been with this vet clinic for over 13 years now, and I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. I took my girl in yesterday — I get very anxious taking her to the vet as she’s a reactive girl and becomes quite stressed. She’s a big Labrador, so handling her kindly and confidently makes all the difference. She needed a barley seed removed, and we decided it was a good time for a full check-up as well. The team here always puts me at ease. They know exactly how to handle her with such calmness and care, and they never make me feel rushed or worried. The staff are genuinely lovely, and their pricing is very reasonable. They even gave her a good brush while she was there, as she’s shedding her winter coat, which was such a thoughtful extra touch. Thank you so much — you ladies are amazing. Your kindness and professionalism mean the world to us.

Negative experience: Used to be great vets but gone downhill over the years. Recent vet visits regarding my dog allergies had the owner/vet tell me that dogs do not have histones or produce histamines. As it’s completely untrue I can only reason it was their ‘push’ to keep him on cytopoint, which is ridiculously expensive. Just took the cat to see new vet due to his mouth being sore and hardly eating and after an xray they told me the vet who operated on his mouth last when he had a broken tooth neglected to remove all the roots properly and has been giving him grief all this time. Now have to pay for another operation that should have been done properly first time round. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: Very good service looking after my sickly cat although when I came to pick her up there was no way to get an invoice or bill sent to me and was told by Kelly I wouldn’t be able to collect my kitten without bank transferring money and showing her the account number and amount. It made me upset thinking my cat will be held hostage from me, the business model of keeping an animal until payment is made in full at the front desk is giving greedy and not good customer service. Kelly told me it’s a regular occurrence it seemed as though she had lost sympathy for those who wouldn’t be able to pay on the day.

Fantastic experience: I have both my cats and my dog at this vet. One cat has anxiety, another has IBS and my dog has skin allergies, as you can imagine we have been there quite a bit! The staff are great and have always been very helpful. Thank you very much :)

Fantastic experience: Winnie my bulldog loves the ladies at the vets. She gets looked after there . Only place I will take her for her nails and care as they really look out for her and know she bit shy .but she great with ladies there and happily goes out back with them . They are great with her and her nails.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to take a minute to commend Avonside-Wainoni vets. Yesterday morning, very suddenly my beautiful dog Narla had to get put to sleep and cross the rainbow bridge. The two vets were so warm and accommodating not only to my poorly girl in her last moments of life, but myself also as I pretty much went into shock. I was reassured and felt less alone in this massive loss and painful experience. They were amazing. This is such an indescribable loss, but I am grateful for the Avonside-wainoni vets and I'm sure Narla would be to. Thank you so much guys (picture shared of my girl Narla ✨)

Everything went off without a hitch ... The staff were lovely and the vet we had was amazing ... They made this stressful situation a breeze for us ... Fantastic experience: Honestly what an absolutely incredible veterinary clinic. we had Billie, our rottweiler/huntaway in today to get neutered. It was his first time at the vet and we were rather concerned on how he would handle it. The girls in the clinic made him feel at home almost instantly. You can be assured your loved ones are still getting the same love in the hands of others. The pre op discussion was perfectly thourough, as was the post op talk that followed later. All in all I don't think you'll find another clinic like this anymore!

Negative experience: Unhygienic, the heat pump in the consult room was leaking water onto an old dirty soaking towel on the floor and the vet was playing with the thrmometer shed just put in my dogs bum while talking to me. This was like a 6months ago thou so maybe its better now but they didn't have water out for dogs to access either and it was very hot. Also I was denied use of the toilet even thou I was visibly pregnant

Fantastic experience: After my cat got attacked and her eye was bleeding on a Saturday at 12, I called my normal vet and they were booked out until Tuesday. Many others were closing at 12. I called here and they squeezed me in at 1pm (their closing time). They gave lots of information during the examination and explained everything in a way that could be understood. Great service, went the extra mile.

My little boy came home safe and sound and the vet gave us a info pamphlet to take home with aftercare instructions. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Bad experience with this vet, horrible staff, very stuck up.. would not recommend, over charging , just to ask for advice.... i would not waste my money here, they are only about the dollar, not your pets...

Positive experience: The care for our dog was wonderful as far as we can tell. However, their "human" bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. Staff left us waiting at reception for a long time without greeting us and were quite rude and blunt when answering our questions on how to look after our pup after his surgery. Kept referring us to a leaflet rather than helping put our minds at ease with talking to us directly. We were the only people in too, so wasn't like they were flat out busy. Would probably not use them again due to their staff.

Negative experience: Our friends beautiful Oscar the cat was bought in and these vets took a single X-ray and determined that he needed his leg removed, after organising charity funds to help pay for the surgery my friend sought a second opinion from another vet who after proper care and multiple X-rays determined there was zero need to remove the leg. Do not trust these vets with your beloved family members, they also got very nasty when we mentioned getting a second opinion which should have been a red flag in itself

Negative experience: I was scheduled to vaccinate my cat yesterday. But when we arrived, the vet suggested to put off vaccination as my cat got flea a week before and her temperature was slightly higher than normal. I got charged $62 consultation fee for that. Not happy with the way they do things there, any charge should be acknowledged and under consent before they offer the service, I didn’t ask for the consultation, I only made my appointment for vaccination. This charge make me feel I am forced to buy without making my choice. Will not go there again.
