Fantastic experience: We are so grateful to all the care, attention, hard work and expertise the Harewood Vet team provide. They are exceptional vets and lovely people who always go above and beyond to look after your pets.

Fantastic experience: The team at Harewood vet are just wonderful. My golden retriever Karma had her tail shut in a door and needed a lot of vet visits over a couple of months to monitor healing and treat infection, then to surgically remove the tail tip after the healing didnt go as planned. The vets helped us learn to monitor Karma's tail at home and allowed us to do bandage changes at home too. I cannot praise the team enough. They listened to us when we told them what was working and what wasnt working at home with the tail bandaging - it felt like a real team effort - and they always got back to us quickly if we felt Karma needed another course of medication or an urgent check up. A special thanks to vets Michael and Yas, vet nurses Erin and Debbie, and the receptionist team. Karma is nearing the end of her healing journey now and we cant wait to see her goof around with her friends at Donquest daycare (where her mum works) again free of bandages and pain! We also appreciate the "Gap only" option with our insurance for payment of Karma's surgery. This took the pressure off significantly. I would also like to note that even after all the vet visits, tail checks, and surgery, Karma still loves going to Harewood Vet. I think this tells you just how much they look after their fluffy clients! Karma rates them 5 stars too!

I called up first thing Monday morning as our cat had a very swallow face, they said no appointments today but bring him down and leave him with us and we will see him when we can, by 1145 he was home with us all fixed up. Positive experience: Not impressed by the lack of follow up communication regarding my cat Roger.Still waiting for a call many days after I indicated that his recovery has been slow. I am not booking another expensive procedure and considering another vet.

Negative experience: This review is specifically about Nikki, the practice manager, who was not our veterinarian, yet took it upon herself to intervene in our cat’s care without clinical assessment. Our elderly Persian cat was seen for an ingrown nail that had become infected. We were advised this can be normal in very elderly Persians, and treatment was completed successfully. The issue resolved. Despite this, we were scolded over minor matting, delivered with judgement rather than empathy or any practical understanding of elderly cats who dislike brushing. We manage detangling gradually and responsibly. Nikki became involved after seeing our cat “out the back” and inserted herself into the situation. Despite our cat being 19 years old, tiny and frail due to age, she was spoken about as though she were a kitten. This basic misidentification was never corrected and was genuinely alarming. After the nail had healed, we were pushed to book further appointments that were not medically necessary. When we declined, Nikki personally contacted us and threatened SPCA involvement unless we returned. She raised euthanasia as a possible outcome despite there being no active medical issue at that time. We were accused of being cruel and irresponsible owners and told our cat was in a terrible state. This was false and deeply distressing. Our cat was well cared for and lived to 19 years old. This week, after we had moved clinics, Nikki contacted our new veterinary practice and advised that our cat should be put to sleep. This intervention directly led to us being coerced into an outcome we were never comfortable with and has caused lasting trauma for our family. In my opinion, Nikki’s version of “advocacy” felt like intimidation and control rather than care. It did not feel like animal welfare. It felt like someone overstepping their role and inserting themselves into life-and-death decisions they were not qualified to make. We later experienced genuine compassion and professionalism at another clinic, which only highlighted how unacceptable this behaviour was. If you have elderly animals or expect empathy, clinical judgement, and respect, I strongly recommend avoiding this practice. What we experienced was not care. It was bullying dressed up as concern.

Positive experience: Had a good outcome with the lovely young man who saw us. Correct diagnosis for Maisie. Was quite concerned however when I heard the price which I queried turns out because I bought in a sample it was alot less nearly half the price. If I was not a more assertive person I would have just paid.

All the staff were so kind and compassionate, including all the veterinarians, vet nurses and front desk staff. Our wee boy has made a full recovery and we are grateful for the on-going care and regular check ins.

Negative experience: My daughter went with my dog for vaccination. I was clear yesterday when I booked the appointment that I just signed up for best for pet membership which clearly states that there are no waiting period. I told the lady my daughter will be taking my dog and she assured me she will call me if there's any problem. You should've confirmed with my daughter that the membership hasn't gone through on your end and that we have to pay before you do any service. Your receptionist Brittney didn't even seem to care and that she wouldn't do anything to help at all. I paid but the unwillingness to help is very disappointing. will never go back there.

Positive experience: Saved my dog from cancer but then weren’t sure if they had and wanted to do another surgery. Also, there was a complicated neck surgery to do and the vet didn’t want to risk it and asked me to put my dog down. I had to beg her to try and turned out it wasn’t cancer again it was just an infection and she was wrong and my dog lived several more years. Good thing I didn’t listen. Otherwise, friendly staff

Fantastic experience: My dog was bitten by another dog. The team were really great to help my boy and the best for him. They really care about animals especially Erin, Debbie and the blonde lady who use to work at the blue cross gets. I was very traumatised and they alll did their best to make sure my boy was okay. They were very empathetic as well and I really recomend this vets after having bad experiances with other vets in chch this is one I would definatky use they aren't their for their pay check they are their because they care

The team were amazing and explained everything that was happening, arrange a followup visit to ensure the drugs were working. Positive experience: changing my 5 star review to a 3. The staff were great most of the time but the price has skyrocketed. A tooth extraction was quoted for our cat recently and we opted to get other opinions and were told it wasn't needed, after a scale and polish the tooth was actually fine. We saved over $1000 just by getting another opinion, he still was put under for the dental treatment and was only going to be charged another 100 more for an extraction if it was needed. We will not return to this vet due to the extortionate fees they charge. Other vets in the area charge half the cost just for a consultation. At the same time our cat has had multiple tests also for ear irritation at Harewood and everytime showed nothing, but one appointment at our new vet and it showed a long term infection that we can easily treat. The care that used to be given here isn't what it used to be and you just feel like another number. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Negative experience: Multiple "failed" bookings. First time the recipetionest forgot to book in my dogs neutering, second time was canceled due to a vet being sick. They also said they would call to see how the dog was doing the next day which they didn't. Wouldn't recommend this vet at all. The only reason we have come back is due to it being across the road and having afterpay.

Fantastic experience: The staff & care on my Oriental in the Cat Cottage was fabulous. He loves cuddles & staff were most obliging! I had to extend the stay when my dad passed & they sent me photos of him by email. The facilities are clean & modern.

Negative experience: This is ridiculous. My Birman Simba who has never had mats in his fur comes back covered in them. How stressed he must have been?! With no explanation. Do not send your cats there, the least they could’ve done was take care of him and work on the matting throughout. They have been shaved off now

The vet lady sorry forgot her name as was very foggy that day but she had blonde hair she was friendly caring and understanding.
