My 12-year-old baby recently underwent major surgery to remove a lump from his jaw, and I am so incredibly grateful for the care he received. The staff were kind, welcoming, and genuinely compassionate throughout the entire process. Vet Bart is exceptionally knowledgeable, and his attention to detail and commitment to doing everything perfectly gave me complete confidence and peace of mind. I can’t thank the team enough for looking after my boy so beautifully. ❤️

Negative experience: We were recommended to come to this clinic. Poor clinical management, misinformation, inaccurate reporting and overcharged us. Stephanie couldn't be bothered responding to our email of complaint so off the the Vet Council we go.

Fantastic experience: The best experience by far!! Cannot speak highly enough of the whole team. Our border collie had TPLO surgery with Newstead Vets performed by Boet. We had a lot of apprehension booking this surgery for our girl as just a year earlier she had the same surgery on the other leg which ended up costing us $12k+. Bart (Vet) spoke to us over the phone for about half an hour (completely free of charge) and put all our concerns to rest. This time surgery (with Newstead) ended up costing us much less than half of what we paid last time (at other clinic), including follow up x-rays and consultation. The whole team is friendly, knowledgeable and really have the best interest of the animal and the owners at the forefront. We live in Tauranga and just wish these guys were closer so we could see them for everything! Thanks so much Newstead team!

Fantastic experience: Turns out our stupid dog ate something and the vets saw him and we got some medication to help. Made the whole thing very easy and gave me all the options. Price was very reasonable as well. Our dog does have a nasty lump on his paw, we've been quoted $2k to $3k at other vets, these guys $400. This is defiantly our new vets

Fantastic experience: We have visited Newstead a lot over the last couple of years with our elderly dog. They are always great with her, which puts her at ease. You can generally get an appointment within a day or two, if not the same day. Highly recommend.

Very quick service they said 1 hour and I didn't think they would be so fast and I got a ph call asking where I was we said 1 hour well I was very impressed I would recommend this vet it's hands down the best in the Waikato thank you so much everyone much appreciated

Fantastic experience: I thought dogs just hate the vet.... little did I realize if my dogs so good at judging people they should know what vet is right for them! Transparent about costs Non judgemental. I got recommended to go to Bart... got put with Devon... and I'm... IN LOVE so is my 3 dogs. When was the last time your Vet considered your dogs hormones and possibly allergies instead of insulting you for your dog not being on the most premium foods... My last vet wouldn't let me come in without muzzling my 14year old terror and raising her voice at my greyhound for shaking... and calling my kelpy pup a bad dog for an accidental hello jump Devon had the same "demon" on her lap and took a blood test without the "dangerous" dog making as much as a peep!!! The Kelpy would hardly get out of the door! Amazing staff only sorry that I haven't found them sooner. They didn't even have to use treats.... they just... know how to talk animal.

Fantastic experience: Dog's nails were cut quickly and without issue. Spent 45 minutes with the vet. Dr Devin Suffield and the team were incredibly patient and managed to remove a cyst in seconds that had been there for two years. I was amazed. Very knowledgeable, patient and caring treatment of Jack.

Fantastic experience: Newstead Veterinarian Service are the best in Hamilton, a dedicated team of experienced veterinarians with excellent customer service who work well together and are serious about what they do.. I appreciate all the help and cant thank you guys enough for saving the life of my dog, I don't think she would be here today if it wasn't for y'all so thanks again and I will definitely be coming back as a return customer.. Hopefully not if you get what im saying but if something was to happen in the future I know where I'll be going.. Cheers team 5 stars for sure

They have provided fantastic care for past cats, dogs, rabbits and rats and are caring and sympathetic when the outcomes aren't great. Recommend them any day

Negative experience: Good service, attentive staff BUT OVERPRICED! The consultation and vaccinations pricing are much above average across Hamilton and even in Auckland. For example, I've paid $293 for the booster vaccination of my cat ($123) and dog ($170). After that I googled how much the same service costs in Hamilton and found that if I did the same vaccines at Pets @ Wintec Animal Care Services (for instance), I would pay $135 ($45 cat and two vaccines for a dog $90). The difference is $158 NZD!!! It would be good to have the price list posted on the Newstead Vet website, but there is nothing about it unfortunately, so ask them before making an appointment about pricing not to be a disappointed unpleasant surprise.

Fantastic experience: We have been going to these vets for many many years. They are wonderful staff and Bart and Gabe are amazing veterinarians. Only yesterday our poor puppy was involved in a hit and run on our road which is 100kph. Only clipped her head but she was not in a good way, we immediately rushed her to Newstead vets and they saw to her immediately without a second thought. She is stable now and very slowly recovering at home after staying overnight for monitoring. I can’t thank the staff enough for keeping my little girl, alive, safe and comfortable. God bless these people.
