Negative experience: Really disappointed, I booked an appointment with not 1 but 2 staff over the counter for my kitten to get de sexed & microchipped at the prime age for this procedure, only for vaccines to be booked instead (which they told me over the counter she didn’t require) ?? and told on the week of her surgery they are booked out & won’t be doing her surgery. No apology or rescheduling of appointment offered.

Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND. Extremely disappointing and stressful experience with CareVets Rototuna. Mum paid her invoice in full, yet was still sent to debt collections without warning over the Christmas period. Very stressful and poorly handled. Still waiting for it to be resolved.

Negative experience: Don’t recommend - unprofessional and they overcharge you.

Negative experience: Took my bird to get wings a f claws done! 1 claw was cut to short. Clotting power was used. The ver was called in and pain relief was given. Gave them a call a week later as my bird isn't wait Bering on her leg. After reassing the bird. They refuse to admit the fault was theirs. And refuse to cimpisate and then proceed to charge me for pain relief etc With my other bird I had to hold him.while they attempted to do wings and claws. Causing him a lot of stress and me a few holes in my hand. Don't take your birds here

Fantastic experience: We've been with Rototuna CareVets since 2011 and every visit with any of our 3 Cats has always been great. We're down to our last Cat now who is 14 and the team were really helpful and caring throughout our Charlee's Ear Surgery and recovery keeping a close eye on her due to her age. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: Took our elderly cat in and we had to unfortunately put him to sleep. Carevets were amazing. So compassionate and caring of our situation. Informed us of each step of the euthanasia process. Wasn't to expensive given it was on a Sunday.

Positive experience: Our cat received great care and treatment, cannot fault that but when a professional person says the bill will be between $900 and $1000, we didn't expect a bill of $1350! especially when there were no unanticipated surprises. Will try to get something in writing if we ever use their services again.

Negative experience: I went to carevets chartwell hamilton to take my puppy to get and abcesses check on the side of the face and the same time i told the vet lady that my puppy was not eating and not being active she said it was cause of the abcesses she said the my puppy looks fine. when i left care vets my puppy started vomiting in the car care vets chartwell told me that they closing for the rest of the week. then for last 3 days my puppy starting get worse vomiting all the time dark runny poos and not eating so i rang rototuna care vets they told me to get hold of spca to help. so i rang spca they saaid who told you to ring us i siad rototuna care vets. spca said how come care vets chartwell didnt check for parvo. i said that care vets said it was the abcesses making her feel well. so spca paid for my puppy to get a parvo test done today at after hours hospital vet. hospital vet did parvo test and came back positive. the hospital vet said that care vets chartwell should of done the parvo test that earlier. the hospital if the parvo test was done earlier it could of saved her life. but the hospital had to put down my puppy due to the parvo was far ahead they said care vets chartwell should of been on to it. because of chartwell vet and rototuna vets my did not survive. it broke our hearts. chartwell care vets and rototuna care vets should done there job properly. she would of still be alive. now iam to scared to take my animals to care vets chartwell. they need to check properly.

Fantastic experience: Recently took my cat in for a checkup. Very pleased with the service and advice provided.

Negative experience: This was a while back. 1. After following the rules for the dentist appointment and getting it done. My dog came out with dirrahea. After paying $500 dollars I would expect some treatment. But for the young doctor, it's just a job to them. My dog gets better treatment at daycare. 2. They forgot to cancel my appointment.

Negative experience: I find it very unhelpful that on the website it shows that that Care vets Rototuna is open on Sunday only to find there are no vets or nurses available and it is open just as a shop!

Fantastic experience: My cat has been taken very good care of during the almost one-month Christmas holiday. During the period, the staff replied my email in time to keep me informed about the cat's status. Thanks for the service. I'll be back in future!

Fantastic experience: I had the absolute best experience at Carevets Rototuna today with Dr Amanda Briston, I have an extremely nervous/anxious rescue dog and Amanda handled him with such care, patience and respect. She set my dog, as well as me at ease and made it a very positive experience. My dog that usually takes a fair bit of time to let new people near, even gave her lots of tail wags and let her pat him! Thankyou so much for taking your time with my boy and helping him to relax so it seemed less frightening. Absolutely outstanding :)

Fantastic experience: Carevets Rototuna were amazing in their care for my dog right from his terminal cancer diagnosis through to his final day. They were professional whilst also being caring and compassionate. They made a very difficult time that much easier to bear and their work was greatly appreciated. You would not get better service.

Fantastic experience: I tried 10 other places and then saw a review for CareVets Rototuna stating they called in the a.m. and got a booking in the afternoon, so, I called in the afternoon at 3:17p.m. and got an appointment for my parent's dog for 4p.m. on the same day. Kyla who answered the phone was great to talk to. We had Veterinarian Lucy who was informative, and provided great guidance on treatment pathway and management. Tama helped progress payment of treatment products and when I came back to get another treatment product the vet recommended that may be worth doing again, Kyla was available to progress it so there was no delay to look for staff as staff were available at the service desk to progress payments. Dental checks are free through the Nursing staff and eventhough we didn't have the dog booked for it, the vet checked his teeth and there wasn't an additional fee on top of consultation. Great price for consultation. Highly recommend as a vet for people to go to, it was worth the visit from out of town.

Negative experience: Avoid. I made an appointment for two specific treatments for my cat. They have all the details on the computer in front of them when I made the booking. I turn up two weeks later and was told I was too early for one treatment and I needed to come back. Why didn't they tell me when I made the booking? Their response: "reception can't be expected to know everyone's pet plan". A 45min round trip for nothing. I won't be back.

Fantastic experience: This business has the right name " Care Vets" The word care has been demonstrated to us many many times. We have many pets and have always gone to carevets, we have along the way had questions around procedural stuff , account questions, and then there was the hard questions about our Molly Dying, and all the time, these folks absolutely nail it with how we have been treated ! how the questions have been answered, how they make time to meet and talk to ensure our needs are met, as well as us meeting theirs of course. We wouldn't ever take our pets anywhere else ! my wife has established a great relationship with Jenny who is one of the Vets , and from the feed back i hear, Jenny is an extremely professional caring vet. The folks on the Phones, Tama , Rachel, Tarryn, and all the other names i cant remember are as professional and polite as senior management. With the Army of pets we have, this clinic has almost attended to every scenario possible and we would never go anywhere else. If you dont go to carevets, you are missing out on something extremely special. Try them, you wont be disappointed. Don't judge businesses on the mistakes they might make, judge them on how they fix it if you have given them the opportunity to do so. we are all dealing with human beings.

Fantastic experience: We have, sadly, had to leave our kitty, for an extended period of time with Carevets, Rototuna while we have been overseas. They have shown him consistent care, always been professional, let us know if he is at all out of sorts and the result is a happy kitty in the cattery. Over the years their vet service has been excellent as well.

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Extensive range of dog toys and accessories which were well priced. We purchased two wooley jumpers for our puppy, dog food and some fun toys. Highly recommend and we will return.

Negative experience: Been to this vet a few times. A few bad experiences: First time my dog was given a shot without my approval or consent. Second time the vet was 30 mins behind which is okay - but nobody called to let me know said sorry for inconvenience - waste of time and I didn’t even end up having time to see the vet Will not return.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely impressed with the care and service. My cat had a bad reaction to surgery and the teams at Rototuna, Rototuna North & Chartwell looked after her and nursed her back to health. I really felt they care and did absolutely everything possible. Thank you!

Negative experience: Rating their grooming service only, cannot speak on anything else. We asked specifically for nails to be clipped, his long hair to be cut half the length to retain fluffliness, hair in ears to be plucked/cleaned. Not a single one of our requests were done. They shaved him short, hair that was 7-8cm in length is now less than 1cm in length! His whole pelvic area and inner back legs were trimmed down to the skin so that when he sits his entire knee shows only skin! Nail tips clipped to where dirt in nails begin, not to where cuticles begin, nails are so long they protrude in short hair and hurt us. Hair in ears were not addressed. Absolutely ridiculous, poor communication on their end and did not follow any of our requests. Our once fluffy doggy is now skin and bones and looks ridiculous to us. I would not recommend anyone to use their grooming service. Fluffy photo is from before and 2 from after.

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, gentle vet that did not make my cat too stressed and follow up has been excellent. Of course the bill is another issue. What about an OAP discount? The need to repeat blood tests will be crippling.

Negative experience: The worst Vet ever. They dont care your pet at all. 100% not recommended. They are killing your pets. Careless and cold blood vet.

Fantastic experience: The staff was so amazing to get my cat in quickly, my poor fur baby somehow managed to get some sort of waterproof glue substance all over his belly. The staff was super awesome and said they can help. After trying to removed it myself and bath him. I brought him in in all wet and shivering. The staff managed to save as much fur as possible and give him a warm incubator. They made me feel comfortable with him being there and said they loved having him and all the smooches they got. Which really made my day. ALSO a plus was, what i thought would cost me a few hundreds end up being way cheaper than i originally thought. Super happy.

Fantastic experience: Awesome veterinary care for my pet. Well priced services and I was given extras like sample pet food and a free pet health check. Really like the caring atmosphere at this vet. All staff members talked to me and to my pet. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: So angry with their vet, we spent lot of money here and still did't know why my cat is sick. They even don't want to send the record to another vetcare which we changed to. NEVER RECOMMEND!

Fantastic experience: CareVets Rototuna is a great choice for all your pet needs. They have been wonderful for our puppy Rocket. We attended Puppy Preschool there. And Rocket now uses their doggy daycare option too, for some social fun with other dogs. The vets and nurses have been great too. Very caring and engaged in your pet when we have needed their services.

Fantastic experience: Very great place! The service there is VERY good!! I got 3 of my pets from CareVets and I love them so much! The people there are very kind and take good care of the animals and other things like fish and sometimes they have a pet lizard! There is also puppy preschool there which is amazing, I know someone who works there and they put heaps of effort into the puppy preschool to make sure you and your puppy get a great experience and learn some things! I HIGHLY recommend CareVets Rotutuna!
