Wellington After Hours Vet Clinic

Fantastic experience: The convenience of being able to bring a sick pet to an emergency after hours vet is great. Compassionate service and great help given. I recommend them and their service. I came in with an injured chicken, their knowledge about chickens is minimal and thought the injury needed her to be put down. Get a second opinion from an avain vet.

Fantastic experience: We have used the after hours vet clinic on numerous occasions and are very pleased and grateful that we have them on our doorstep. The vet last night was really lovely and checked Evie our two year old Sphynx out really thoroughly. We really appreciated that. Two days on Evie is looking much better.

Fantastic experience: Had the best experience at Wellington After Hours Vet Clinic today. The staff were professional and efficient, from the moment we met Lauren the receptionist, we knew that we were in good hands. Sally the vet was amazing. She took our very sick, lethargic and in pain beagle Poppy for comprehensive blood tests and also a wee scan of her abdomen, and returned her to us slightly groggy from the fentanyl patch on her leg, but otherwise the girl we knew up until a few days earlier. Sally then gave us a full explanation of the condition Poppy was suffering from, and was able to almost certainly reassure us that she did not have a more serious problem. Dieter and I are so very grateful to Lauren and Sally, and Poppy is happily having a snooze after her adventure. We are once again a very happy family thanks to the awesome care from this vet practice. Huge thanks to you all. Dieter and Sandy

Fantastic experience: Our dog Maisie recently had to visit the clinic when a grass seed perforated her eardrum. I can't rate the team highly enough for their kindness and care of our distressed little girl (and her worried and upset humans). We were seen promptly, everything was explained to us, and we were sent home with treatment instructions and advice about checking in with our regular vet (who also received clear notes about Maisie's situation). We are so lucky to have this service available in Wellington. Maisie is now fine and back to her normal self. Thank you all for everything you do.

Fantastic experience: Extremely professional vet nurse staff who go the extra mile. Dr Corey is a highly capable and experienced Vet who is confident in her dignosis and can explain issues clearly. Excellent bedside manner with a sometimes stressy border collie. Made a potentially stressful medical issue with a beloved pet very easy to mange. I am a frequent flyer at this vet practice with animals that have a whole host of serious issues and couldn't be more grateful for the emergency services, care, and kindness they provide. Positive experience: Nice to talk to until finances are questioned, I have a full time job and proof of it and pet insurance (you have to pay first the insurance pays you) yet they still refused me service without $180 up front, I had to borrow this money.

Fantastic experience: We unfortunately had to visit the after hours vet clinic recently for our beloved cat, Sammy. We were immediately met with compassionate empathetic staff who supported us through the harrowing experience when our baby girl passed away from sudden heart failure (it was out of everyone's control). The staff did everything they could to help, they walked us through the process with kindness and compassion, and we will be forever grateful for their support. Special mention to Alice for being there for Sammy, even though we weren't there at her last moments, we feel comforted to know she was with people who cared and did everything they could to save her.

Fantastic experience: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were very busy, but they treated every person and their fur baby with care and attention. This was the first time I have needed to bring my cat in, but there have been times in the past where I have called up anxious that something could be wrong and every time they have been so understanding to speak with and have taken the time to give advice. You can tell they really care about what they do, and both me and Fluffy are so appreciative!!

Fantastic experience: Amazing Team, helped removed a fishook from my dogs mouth, was super challenging but it didnt phase them at all. The team was confident and happy to attempt a non sedation method as first option which i appreciated in our situation.

Our cat is sassy and very feisty but the staff were patient with her and understanding of her needs. They took care of her, monitored and gave her medications. I appreciated the attention to detail, the support finding another vet to transfer him to in the morning (as we were only visiting Wellington) and providing the best care. Dr Rose explained all the options I had and was extremely patient and thoughtful. We're so lucky this was the closest vet to where we were staying because they are amazing.

Fantastic experience: The receptionist was really lovely when I phoned to ask if I could bring in our cat. The vet was wonderful with Alfie, really thorough, gentle and calming. We had huge peace of mind after speaking with her, she answered all our questions and explained everything she was doing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wellington After Hours Vet Clinic to friends and family, was a huge relief to be able to have our cat seen and treated so quickly at 10.30 on Saturday night rather than waiting to see our normal vet on Monday. They even forwarded the information and treatment of the after hours visit to our normal vet. Can’t express our appreciation enough.

Positive experience: Verbal directions to find the place weren't offered and when I rang back were vague and confusing. Second person clearer instructions when we were lost near the building. Vet nurse most helpful and compassionate and vet fairly good too. Recommend the after hours vets

Fantastic experience: We have used the After Hours Vet Clinic for years. My most memorable occasion is being away on a boat in Pelorus Sounds and my little Jack Russell, Coco, became ill so we travelled across Cook Strait as fast as possible, phoned the Clinic to let them know I was coming with her. Sadly, she had to be put to sleep, but the staff were just wonderful with her (and me) and I will never forget their kindness.

Fantastic experience: So my best friend of 15yrs needed to cross the rainbow bridge. We wernt expecting it to be a sudden thing as he had cancer but at extreme short notice a secondary problem arose requiring me to make a decision and quickly. Due to the nature of the ailment I chose to let him go with dignity as he did not deserve to suffer at all. Saturday night 19 April my best friend Montee came into Wellingtin after hours with my daughter and grandson in tow. I can't sing praises enough for Aunty and the young lady on the reception (sorry hun, forgot ur name). We were treated with respect we were made to feel welcome but most importantly Montee was treated like family. They ran around after all of us making sure we were well looked after, they explained everything 100% and in terms we could understand. I can't thank these two ladies enough, it's a hard hard call to let ur best friend go and so very hard to get through the process without losing ur mind. Ladies from myself, Chelsea and young Batman and most importantly Montee thankyou so very very much. You are both amazing and we were very lucky to have you both. Wellington after hours Man you get 10 stars from us - in every aspect of the process. This place is getting my business of the year award! Extremely highly recommended

They were able to see my little cat promptly and had already had an idea what the situation was thanks to the most incredible Kaydee ❤️ they saw him and treated him in what I thought was a prompt time! Sally our awesome vet was able to answer my many questions and queries and gave fantastic answers that both educated my partner and I while reassuring us that our little guy was going to be just fine and was doing well. He's had a very stressful week and they made it seem so easy and calm, I really appreciated that. If we were ever to need urgent help again, I know exactly who I'm calling. Thank you do much team. Fantastic experience: Absolutely great. They saved our cats life on the weekend and wasted no time. They met us at the door and took her straight away. It does get very busy but they're so lovely and kept us informed of everything all the way through. Very impressed.

We spent a good two hours at the clinic and watched how the staff took care of each and every pet and person who walked through their door. Thank you for your hard work and for all that you! Fantastic experience: Very Helpful, Compassionate, and Understanding I believe they really understand that many pet owners who come to them are often a little distraught about their fur babies needing emergency care. They were incredibly kind and took the time to explain the options I had, despite the tough choice I needed to make. They were honest about the potential outcomes, and their optimism helped me make the right decision. My puppy needed urgent surgery but wasn’t physically ready for it. I was so pleased that they treated her like royalty, giving her plenty of attention and providing electrolytes along with other care that I couldn’t have managed from the time I arrived until my vet opened the next day. The team was fantastic, and they truly saved my puppy's life. Thanks to their help and support, the best outcome was achieved. I will be forever grateful for the valuable services they provide.

Fantastic experience: After our dog half-drowned herself at the beach, we got quick, well-informed advice to bring her in. She got great care, and we got sensible instructions we could easily remember and understand, for after we brought her home. Really helps to calm you down when you are already in a stressful situation. Even the cost wasent terrible considering it was after hours, I'm very relieved to know we do have these services I'm Wellington and would absolutely reccomend them to anyone

Fantastic experience: We're very lucky to have this After Hours Vet Clinic open and available. We've had to go with our dog and the place was clean, and the staff were very helpful / understanding and attentive. The Vet was especially helpful and much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Not happy to have to use the service obviously, for a cat with a blocked bladder on a Sunday but had no choice. Was seen promptly and had everything explained really clearly. Vet gave options to reduce cost (eg skipping some tests) which was thoughtful and appreciated, bringing the cost down $300-400 and making it affordable, estimate was just under $1000 for surgery and an overnight stay. Payment has to be made on the day but vet accepts afterpay.

Fantastic experience: Came home from a day trip out of town for work to find my dog drooling heavily and uncontrollably - rung the after hours vet and they were amazing, asked questions, consulted amongst their staff and then asked if I would bring her in. they then saw her promptly, were lovely with her and came up with a solution, reassuring me of her wellbeing. Great experience.

Fantastic experience: Our pet was really ill when I brought in to the afterhours, the staff was very understanding and extremely helpful. the staff took care our pet over the weekend and managed to bring him back to his normal self within days, to be honest we thought we were having to say our good by, but what the staff did, they managed to bring the joy back in to our lives.
